View Full Version : laptop but no sound pls help

Hi all ive just got a second hand laptop (fujitsu / siemens amilo running windows xp ) but cannot get any sound. Any ideas?

Nah, you just got ripped off. Take it into a shop, they'll tell you if it's the speakers or sound card.

Did you get any software with it? OS disc, drivers etc? A good start would be going to Control Panel and having a look in 'Sounds and Audio devices' and any sound card in use should be listed right there at the top. If it's there click the Audio tab and make sure it's selected.

If there's nothing there try right-clicking 'My Computer' and selecting 'Manage', then 'System Tools' > 'Device Manager' > 'Sound, video, and game controllers' and reading through the list for anything resembling a sound card.
