Farting Boobs removed by Apple

The App Store continues to evolve, and as such, we are constantly refining our guidelines. Your application, Farting Boobs, contains content that we had originally believed to be suitable for distribution. However, we have recently received numerous complaints from our customers about this type of content, and have changed our guidelines appropriately.

We have decided to remove any overtly sexual content from the App Store, which includes your application.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. If you believe you can make the necessary changes so that Farting Boobs complies with our recent changes, we encourage you to do so and resubmit for review.

OK, I have actually been considering to remove the app myself, but it seems Apple's spring-cleaning mean the decision has been made for me. I had a good chuckle about the text in the standardized mail though. "Overly sexual content", seriously? :D As for Apple's "war on boobs" I'm kinda torn. Part of me think it's really bad that Apple is changing the rules for apps that have already been published. It feels like their changing the rules for an ongoing game. They also seem extremely-overly-oximorony-prudent in the way they go about handling the matter. (Pulling "Daisy Mae" for instance). Just where does Apple draw the line? At the moment they seem to be drawing it between Playboy and everything else as the Playboy app is still available.

Now, in the end though I do believe removing the gazillion of Boob-apps will make the App Store a better experience, but I really don't think Apple handled this particularly well. As for "Farting Boobs", well there wouldn't be much point having an app spoofing the boob-apps when they were all gone anyway... :)

I do think they are going too far to a certain degree. I am glad that they removed all the useless boobs apps and (hopefully) "sexy babes" type apps, but because they're vapid and seedy wastes of space that have nothing of value to contribute, not because I'm a prude. I like a nice pair of chesticles as much as the next guy. I just don't think we need to turn the App Store into a place to peddle pseudo-porn.

However, pulling Daisy Mae was stepping over the line a bit. Yeah, she had a thong and ample cleavage but it's part of the overall theme and was hardly "overtly sexual." A little risqué perhaps -- in that 1950s burlesque sort of way -- but anyone who got offended by that needs to have the tree removed from their rump.

I agree completly, I don't like having to wait for applications that have more efficiant functionality (be it games, or productivity, or social) because these otherwise "useless, good for one laugh to an immature group of kids, gonna just sit on the store with little to activity or downloads"

basically there's a time and place for everything and just because you can develop and make something like that do we really need it in the apps store?

Sony obviousley has racy games, GTA is probably offensive to every opinionated group there is.

But (as far as I've seen) Sony certainly doesn't have discs that load up a pair of boobs to just sit there and jiggle and then maybe fart.

But that's just my opinion, however there a big difference in an actual game with plot, premise, and point Than what apple is trying to actually mass filter.

None exist -- yet, anyway. I'm tempted to say "Of course, it shows a woman in shorts!" but I suspect that Apple's oft reported double standard will make exceptions for big name titles like that were they ever to come to iPhone. Money talks, and big franchises are money.
