Read this article about 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 getting hijacked for profit. Worth the minute read.

But oh—the delicious irony. As it happens, some industrious person or persons decided that this sounded like a great business opportunity, so they helped themselves to the 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 application (http://www.💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩.net/), and have started selling it for $10 a pop. Better yet, they added the following warning:

This happens to every good freeware program at some point. Kyek/Angel (whoever wrote it) won't really care though, I doubt these people end up getting a sale. Who PAYS to crack apps?

They sure do care, that's the funniest part. A beta version of 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 was leaked back in November, and the dev called it "absolutely disgusting, and downright insulting." I'm sure he'll have some choice words about it being for sale now. You can't even make this shit up.

Read Erica Sadun's article about it on Ars Technica:

Holy crap that's a funny story. Half way through I could have sworn that was a joke article!

EDIT:
Here's their response:
Well, we certainly could have seen this one coming from a mile away. A person I've nicknamed PatheticBoy has registered a 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 domain name, the name '💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩' on most major social networks, an E-mail address, etc. He's claiming that he wrote 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩, and he's charging $10 for it. PatheticBoy is also trying to make people believe that people offering it for free have put viruses in it that can mysteriously "steal all your passwords". Obviously, this is a giant scam. According to PatheticBoy's fake Twitter account, he's already gotten at least $40 out of it. (If you're one of those people, remember that you can redact your Paypal payments to get your money back!)

If you'd like to fight back against PatheticBoy, just tweet "@spam 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩" from your Twitter account, report the domain 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩.net on Google's Blogger Abuse Page (Piracy, Spam, take your pick for the report reason), and generally get the word out that 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 is an official (and free) Hackulo.us product, from our very own Angel.

We've had well over 20,000 legitimate downloads, so his 4 isn't much of a penetration -- but hey, it's fun to virtually punch pathetic losers like this in the face smile.gif

So guy complains about his crack software being stolen and abused... while his software does that to regular apps which cost money anyway.

It's like both sides of their blades are blunt like a rusty butter knife.

I just found out the best twist today. This pirated copy is apparently a big joke (http://www.💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩.net/2009/02/lol-this-site-was-joke.html) perpetrated by some dev going by Haklab (http://www.haklab.com/). This makes it even funnier to me.

And it's still sad that (even on that post) that pirates justify themselves by saying it's our faults for not having trials. If something doesn't have a trial that doesn't give you the right to steal it. Just don't buy it.
