Students are hooked on phonics, fish are hooked on bait, and iPhone gamers are hooked on fishing games.
Fishing Kings is Gameloft's take on the ubiquitous fishing expedition complete with flick casting and touch-enabled reeling. It's a number of subtle touches, though, that hope to set this approach apart from the school of other fishing games that are swimming in the App Store.

Thank you. Sounds like a cool game though. Since it's on the iPhone I wonder if I could take it when I actually go fishing - it'd be so meta.

Looks good.Am buying it noi matter what.
Looks pretty good.
I don't normally play fishing games, but this looks like a nice casual fishing game that I could play. Nice relaxing 3D graphics.
It would be nice if you could drive your boat around.

yea I think that is a must have feature in a decent fishing game, the app store needs a fishing game that is more realistic than flick fishing, but still is fun to play with good 3D graphics

Pretty good but it's nothing in comparison with Symbian "Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep"...
If there was port of that awesome atmospheric game...
Anyway - Gameloft is doing great lately, pushing iPhone gaming market to the max.

I see. And looks like Gameloft are definitely trying to improve the graphics of their games now. I thought they took a step back with the graphics of their recent games (BIA2 & GT Racing).

I'd like to see a vid when the fish gets caught. A lot of complaints about some of these fishing apps in the store is that you only get a bite every 3 hours

"Hooked On: Creatures of the Deep" was a "holy" mobile game for me. It still is. It was simply perfect and that game was the only thing I liked on Nokia N-Gage phones...

was really excited for this game but after looking at the video it looks like it would be frustrating just to throw the line and reeling the line :mad:... meh

I am looking forward to this even more after seeing the video.
If you watch the user in the video, Both times he casts the line - He did the same thing twice:
He flicked too soft and shallow, then he gave it more juice.
Second time he did the same exact thing.
Doesn't look frustrating at all, this guys just makes it seem that way until you study the video.
Reeling is fine too I am sure. This guy just reels it right back to the boat after throwing it...as fast as he can.
No wonder no fish bit - They would have to race to the line!
Next to "Flick Fishing" which is still amazing, this is the only other game with real water with nice fluid movement.
All those other crappy fishing games just have a photo of water overlapping a photo of a background scene. Those looked horrible (one of them got pretty popular - Surprisingly)
Can't wait for this one. Other than "Late March", anyone have a more solid date?

This is on my must buy list. I just got that i 3D fishing game which has an underwater view too, and while it was a good start theres just so much missing like lure selection, a larger fishing area and more fish. This one looks much more complete.

This is a must buy for me as well, I just wish they would tell us what happened to zombie infection, it was announced well before fishing kings and was suppose to be realeased by the end of this month and it's still not here and there is no more info on it.
Does gameloft always ignore the people want money from? I think they could learn alot from the small companies that actually keep in touch with the people who want to play their games

They didn't say that, they said that it would be in the App Store in less than a week, from March 31st. It is only April 2nd.
If they stick to their word, it will be released before Wednesday 7th of April.

They said that on 31st March.
If you add one week (7 days) to 31st March you get April 7th, which is next wednesday.
And this means that it will be released before next wednesday.

Well that was an old response.
Apple probably updated them on the release date between March 29th and March 31st, and that would explain why they narrowed down their release date to 'less than a week'.
