Yes, line drawing will(IMO) be very good on the ipad...besides, I didn't like valet hero

Edit: Airstrike defense would be good too because the small screen hindered me a little bit...also Games like 2xl Fleet Defense, Heavy Mach 2, and 2360 would be fun :)

I didn't like Valet Hero either. I was gonna say Harbor Master, but with Harbor Havoc around I don't even play HM anymore

Yeah, not sure what jweinberg's obsession with that game is all about...it's almost all he ever talks about here on the forums.

I think Aqua Globs would be great on the iPad but the dev says he has no interest in converting it to the iPad at this time (being careful to "never say never").

If you want a geoSpark like game for the iPad, then you'll at least have Chain Link HD for the iPad to try out.

Cheers for mentioning our game :) We did some concept art to see how would aqua globs look like on the iPad and the chances of realising it are much higher after that. Will still take some time and also the delay of iPad in UK is not helping at all :)

Having finally snagged an iPad I can vouch that both Valet Hero LE and Chainlink HD KICK THE ASS HARD!

Valet Hero LE:
(hoping he got that I was teasing him earlier in this thread) I'm loving the snazzier graphics and the fact that in this iPad version they can even include diagonal spaces. It's currently missing OF support but, as Joshua explained to me, that is only because it wasn't yet available when they initially submitted all pre-launch.

Chainlink HD:
This is essentially the same game as the iPhone version but a little snazzier looking and takes advantage of the greater real estate (the pieces size are a little scaled up so it isn't like you're getting 4x space, but definitely a lot more than in the iPhone to maneuver about.

Harbor Master HD:
While the one included map is cute, and you can't beat the price, I stupidly assumed it was the FULL iPhone game getting the port over. Clearly they're setting up for some sort DLC maps, which could be cool as long as it isn't something as sleazy as $1/map (especially if just re-treads of the existing guys).

Flight Control HD:
Say what you will about this classic $1 game now charging $5, I think they so far get the most props fro really making their HD version pretty special with many all new maps and even a gimmicky foray into 3D).

I'm actually pretty impressed how many of the line drawing games actually make the jump to the big screen (i.e. not native iPad supporting but just taking the original game and scaling it up to twice the size) pretty decently and play great with only minor pixelation. The only one of my line drawers so far to REALLY fail in this jump up seems to be "Space Dock". Somehow it doesn't just show up a little pixelated but actually not even refreshing at quite the right speed so at times you'll see weird seems in the various game objects as the screen refreshes to show the items in their new locations.

What would be a fair price?

How about the best of all worlds (if this is possible). You could have this free version with $1 map DLCs but then also release a Harbor Master HD Premium that will start off with at least 5 maps as well as entitle you to all future maps as free upgrades for $5.

I would gladly pay $5 for this game but I'd need a few maps in it and if I did cough up $5 for it, I'm hoping I'm considered a full owner and not required to keep paying for new maps released in the future.

The original Harbor Master's $1 for an endless stream of free maps isn't viable, I fully concede that, but I'm just looking for a higher cost option that entitles me to free upgrades for the life of the game's development.

Cool, thanks for your thoughts. We're trying to figure this out now. We'd also like to have a separate premium option with ~5 levels, but that means we'd need 5 levels to start with. Given that it takes us about 2-3 weeks to make a level, that's 2-3 months to get an update out, with no idea if anyone would buy it. So we'll probably start with one-level updates, and if people are actually buying them, we may think about introducing a premium priced alternative.

Thanks again!

Yeah, I kind of figured that right as I was writing it...as much as I'd prefer the premium option I want some more maps yesterday and could never wait for you guys to properly make some 5 quality maps first!

Actually, I can't deny that the individual levels are a great marketing tool in that you'll be able to use the various map pack sales as your own informal poll to find out what your public is clamoring for.

While here I just want to put in my $0.02 that while thematic re-skins of Pocket God and the like are cute, I hope they take a far back seat to new maps with cool new gameplay twists. Doodle Jump is a great game but I feel they've gotten themselves stuck in a rut churning out endless reskins with minimal gameplay twists via new platforms or items. Please focus on the substance over the flash!

Doodle Sky HD is a great line drawing plane fighting. The diversity of missions is great, the ipad version is perhaps better suited to the game because it allows a large view of the area making movements and tactics more easy and interesting.
Swipe Soccer is an interesting ipad soccer based on line drawing. The only grip I have is the goal management, position him constantly isn't cool.
Steambirds as you probably already quoted through the article on the site, it seems quite interesting. Seems like Doodle Sky HD but turn based.
Airport One I haven't yet played this ipad game but I read comments quite positive about it but it seems need some polishing on some points, updates will perhaps improve this.

Edit: I also remember a tank battle line drawing game I was close to get but gave up because the author made many design with grinding in mind, which is a gameplay design I hate. Too bad because other than that the game was looking rather fun. I don't remember the name.

Hi, glad you enjoyed our game!

If you're interested, we're giving away Tiptop for free to all TA members, you just need to leave a few thoughts about the game here (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=70526) :)

According to the Dev's blog, he came across some problems of re-drawing the maps to suit the iPad's resolution, as the aspect ratio is different to the iPhone's. Teh game was pretty well balanced for the latter, so he didn't want to disrupt that.
Having said that, I don't think that it would be a bid deal regarding playability with the 2x mode on iPad. Just won't be as pretty, but once you have 6+ taxi's at the same time, you're not going to give a damn! :P
