@scubi Monster Hunter Series is one of my favorite games of all time and I wouldn't want it on the iTouch because the iTouch couldn't offer the response/reaction on the fly needed in the control scheme unless there was some sort of a peripheral(i.e. controller).

One of the main reason's I bought my iTouch was because of its very compact size and uniqueness all-around. Adding a peripheral would be cool and all but would also be doing to much in my opinion. As much as I personally would enjoy playing MH/MHF on the iTouch, I say leave MH and MHF on there respectable consoles for now so it doesn't kill it for us. I do hope you understand...

Thinking about it, I just remembered a couple of freeware games I've played that would be really fun on the iPhone:

Extinction - A zombie survival game set in a GTA 1 style engine. There's not much to it, but with online leaderboards/achievements, it could really work well for a low price.

Survival Crisis Z - A zombie survival isometric shooter that's almost a zombie survival simulator. You have to interact with other survivors, go hunting for supplies, use the skills you have to survive, explore an infected city, and manage your ammo/supplies. It could work if it's done right. It almost reminds me a bit of the game Aftermath that just came out recently.

Infinite War - If it recieves a decent graphical update, I think it could work. It's almost like GTA but in a war situation. You play as a soldier and try to take down the enemy in a GTA3-style gameplay, able to steal jeeps, tanks, etc. and pick up weapons, aiming down the sight in first person. For a freeware game made with gamemaker it's actually really fun, but if it came to the iPhone it'd need a decent upgrade or it'd never make it.

I think that some of these games could work. We've seen other freeware games ported before and become a pretty big success, such as Enviro-Bear or Monster RPG 2.

An action-puzzle-adventure game like A Link to the Past though, would work excellent on this system.

As for ported games - I'd love to see Cybermage: Dark Light Awakening, Strife, Blood, Blake Stone, SiN

All excellent 3d-shooters that I think would translate well to the touch. Especially Strife - Doom Classic controls excellent, and Strife is built on the Doom engine and has a much better storyline & level structure.

I think someone should make an NHL game for the iPhone (And yes, I am Canadian :D)

The controls would be simple. You use the accelerometer to move your player around. To shoot, you flick the screen in the direction you want to shoot, and do a down then up motion for slap shots (very similar to NHL 08 skill stick). To pass, you just slide your finger in the direction of the player you want to pass to to. Other various moves:

Change player: double tap
Check Player: tap other team's player
Poke Check: hold finger down on touch screen

Alright, I'll admit, I'm a crazed zombie fan. Yes, I've owned/ played l4d, killing floor, dead rising, resident evil, the such...

However, I've always, and I mean always, wanted to play a sort of a realistic zombie survival game. Not one where you hold out into a place until the timer runs out nor a get from point A to point B, but a mix (get from A to B, but you'll have to hold out for the night). Weapons should be a bit more realistic (no machine guns/ rocket launchers/ automatic shotguns). In fact, I've debated on learning programming to do this. I've already got an artist (my sister goes to the Pasadena Art Center College of Design), but the coding might prove to be too difficult to me, who has 0 experience (so far) with coding.

Seven Seas from astraware, great puzzle game!

Just spotted this post on a thread search! Seven Seas is actually based on a game by PopCap which we developed under license from them for Palm & Windows Mobile. If there was going to be an iPhone version, PopCap would likely develop it themselves.

That said, we really liked the core mechanic in the game, and we have an idea for a new game that might well appeal to fans of Seven Seas. It's still only an idea right now, but who knows what you might see in a few months! :)

I would love to see Baldur's Gate and Diablo 1. BG would probably work better on iPad, but since I don't have one, I'd still like to try it on iphone. I think they're mostly pipe dreams though - Diablo at least, since I've read that the CEO of Blizzard (I think it was him) doesn't consider the iPhone a very promising/lucrative/worthy platform for his attention (psh, compared to WoW, nothing is :p). A version of Mass Effect came to the iPhone, so at least Bioware/EA have made the effort in the right direction...

I've mentioned my wishlist in a similiar thread, so I'll try to keep it short:

From the good old SNES era:

Chrono Trigger – I don’t think I need to explain why, don’t you think? I have some small suggestions if Square Enix will ever consider porting CT. Graphics could be a bit refreshed, sharp and crisp. Not so blurry like Seed 2 or partially Inotia 3, even Secret of Mana is not perfect in this area. It would be great to see something on the graphical level of Illusia, which has one of the most beautifull pixel art graphics I’ve seen. Adjustable interface would be nice, like you can do in Zenonia 2 (is it really that hard to add this feature to a game?). I haven’t bought Secret of Mana but from what I’ve seen on Youtube the d-pad and buttons don’t look good, and the placement of them is not very good either. Just my humble opinion.

Some other brilliant classics: Earthbound, Secret of Mana 2, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Evermore, Tales of Phantasia, Star Ocean, Terranigma.

PC games:

Fallout 1 or 2 – I don’t think this is possible but I can have dreams, right? I don’t think Bethesda will ever be interested in porting those two on mobile devices...

King’s Bounty: Legend – imagine how great it would be to see this game well ported on iPad. Amazing, incredibly well polished game that could be a brilliant port, and with touch controls it could be a completely new experience in iDevice gaming.

Baldur’s Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights 1 - dungeons & dragons based legends

Titan Quest – this game well ported could easily compete with Dungeon Hunter series, or even be better in some areas.

Siberia 1 and 2 – the Broken Sword series are doing very well in Appstore, so I don’t see any reason why both Siberias would not.

Aralon was out not too long ago, so I was thinking about Gothic 1 and 2 – that would be a dream come true to me, to be able to play one of my all time favorites on mobile device.

Those are just a couple of my suggestions. I would be really happy to see at least one if this games ported one day. Hope that day will come. Long live iDevice gaming!

Had that on the Amiga and I couldn't agree more. Terrific game! I still play it loads on my PSP with a Mega Drive emulator though, so my fix is satisfied! :D

Ever since 3.0 and the additional SDK support, I've been waiting for someone to make a good, clean, simple controller pad to plug into the charger port. So many games could utilize it instead of tacky on-screen buttons. Why hasn't this happened yet? Almost 2 years ago.

The Lego one was incredible. I haven't played much of it, because I'm saving it for when I get an iPad, but from what I have played it's just fantastic.

But I really want a regular HP game. Kind of like Years 1-4, but not lego styled. That would be nice. And if it utilized the Unreal Engine, that would be amazing.

It's just because I'm a huge Harry Potter fan.

I know what you mean. I used to see pretty 'dull average' games on my friends ipod so never bothered. Finally took a leap in January 2011 and i've been full on addicted since, got about 400 games now and love the excitement of new games every week.

Just takes me back to the 80's when computers first came out which was a very exciting time. Plus now you also get bedroom coders as well as the large corporates doing games.

Great time to be a fan, getting an ipod touch was the best thing i've bought in years.

That would be brilliant. But i must admit Dungeon Hunter 1 and 2 helped fulfill most of my Baldurs Gate addiction.

I wish there were more retro titles, i mean 'emulator' type games, the Atari app is good but doesnt have great games. I read that the people who 'converted' P-47 Freedom Fighter basically have a tool/app which encases the original arcade rom, so surely it would be easy money to keep re-releasing a lot of these old classics ?

The Capcom Arcade has hardly done anything recently, wish they would add more games, same for any similar companies. Eg a Taito app. You get many of these types of compilations on PC CD-Rom (I've got a fair few) but i wish they would bundle them together on iOS

Nintendo's losses have been so monstrous in the last few sales quarters, that if the sales trends continue, they will have no choice but to license out their games a'la Sega to stay alive, or simply die. I'm excited for it, I have a feeling we will one day see Mario grace iDevice screens!

You can't buy old super nintendos anymore, or old gameboys, so the gamesvare basically sitting there going to waste, even ppl with those old consoles would never pull it out and play it.

Yes you can buy some of the older games on wii or nds but no one goes out and buys a NDS or wii for the sole purpose of buying 10-20 year old retro games. People who buy a NDS most likely want games with really good graphics and 3d visuals.
So I very highly doubt they'd lose any money, the only ppl who would buy those old games on NDS are ppl who already own one, so there should be no console sales lost, maybe there would be if they ported recent games to iOS but I wasn't asking for that, just the old retro games that are going to waste pretty much, it wouldn't make a difference anyway since everyone has a NES / SNES emulator on their computers, so they'd actually make money if they put it on iOS cause the thought of portable Mario on he go, on your phone wouod appeal to many people, especially people like me who love old skool Mario but am not nerdy enough to actually buy a handhold nintendo console

lol, really. First, some of those "old" games are classics and better than the new stuff coming out. Second, those games you listed would never run on iOS devices as they are now. However, many of those games have similar iOS versions - just check out Gameloft's games as someone else already pointed out.

The reason many people aren't mentioning the likes of Skyrim and the "full" Battlefield 3 is because this thread was intended for realistic suggestions. Yes, Skyrim is a brilliant game, but merely listing every single current gen console game without any thought whatsoever about how terribly it'd play is just a bit... dumb.

I'd be pulling hair from both mine and everyone else's personal spots if Skyrim made an appearance, because it'd be a travesty and an insult to both the series and it's developers.

THIS. So far, I've only seen three ones that I could call "decent" (by app store standards), and that's 9 innings by Com2us, Baseball Superstars by Gamevil, and Pro Baseball by gameloft (only available in the Gameloft Sports Pack). Really want mlb 2k12 though, or even 10 or 11 would be AMAZING>

Not really, Burnout Paradise is WAY different from Crash. Crash is a 2d arcade game, while Burnout was full 3D game with a free to roam world with events inside that world.

ehh id say fat chance. Rockstar is better at optimization than Bethesda and GTA3 isnt at its best incarnation's level. Not to mention size of the game would be prohibitive.
