Here's a game I've been working on recently. It's a Puyo Puyo style puzzler but has modes which play like Columns and Taisen Puzzle-dama. The VS mode lets you play with 2 people on the same device so it should work nicely on the iPad's large screen. Runs at a rock solid 60fps on my 3G so inputs are lag-free. It's only $1.99 for either version and very compact at around 500K (iPad version features high-res graphics and runs in proper aspect ratio).
I may release parts of the engine as open source once the code is suitably cleaned up. It's already running on Android, Mac, Linux, and Windows but those versions are still in testing for now.
