There's a review on the iTunes store that this game does not sync games in progress with your account on the iPhone version. Can anybody confirm this? Seems like a huge, huge oversight if it's true.

Yes! Words with Friends HD is 100% compatible with iPhone. Play the same games on either device.

EDIT: just bought the app and can comfirm that it does work perfectly. You just need to make sure that you have your ID password enabled before the saves can be transferred.

I've encountered an error message that says woops and locks down the game and makes it totally unplayable. Many review on iTunes say the same thing. As a result I've paid for a game that I cannot even play.

I have not played this game. But to me, it would make more sense getting the iPhone version and putting that on the iPad and being able to play on both devices? The game keeps your username?

And if I got the game for the iPad - what would I use on the iPhone since I hear this is incredibly popular (and I obviously don't have 3g) and might want to play on the road, or on my lunch break? Get the free ad supported?

Is the HD that much nicer, and UI much improved? I read the comments on the front page of TA and they seemed pretty torn...

I love WWF use it more than any other game and didn't hesitate to buy the iPad version. To be honest, I think I prefer it on the phone. I'm used to being able to take in the whole board without having to scan it. The HD version feels too big!

What I really wished is that they'd fixed the iPhone version before releasing this...

It needs:

- SOWPODS dictionary for those of us not in the US.
- Stop backlight timing out whilst studying the board.
- Sound off option
- Landscape keyboard (particularly on the iPhone)

It would be very nice to have:

- Player stats
- Tell you what word is spelt wrong when you've played a turn with multiple words and one is wrong.
- a function to check the score/spelling of a word without submitting it
- Seeing the tiles your opponent had left when the game ends
-Up to four player games

Great game on the iPhone however there are some problems with the iPad version. Namely the problem of no push notification. This is supposed to be addressed in an update soon.

The second problem I have is the service is so SLOW I have 4-5 games going on at a time log on and try to play and it takes sometimes 20 seconds to show me the moves etc.. do this 3 or 4 times and it become frustrating. (yes this happened on the iPhone as well) but on the iPad with it's weaker signal to wifi it's horrible at times.

That said 1.99 is a great deal for this buy it now and wait for the updates.

They should update it so that when you switch to landscape, the board, along with your games menu and chat screen should all be showing.

I got the lite version today and liking it a lot so far; the lack of push notification is annoying though, is it likely to be fixed anytime soon? I'd buy it no problem if this wasn't an issue. In fact I'd probably buy both versions.

I have the lite version but push seems to be working just fine for me. Have you tried a reset?

Playing the lite/free version and it crashes constantly. Also will crash often after telling me a word isn't valid. Anyone else having these issues?
