Has anyone bought Worms HD yet? How are the controls? I've been looking for a solid platform to play Worms on ever since Worms Armageddon stopped working on Windows, but I don't want to jump in unless it's up to the task.

I picked this up yesterday. I've been happy with it so far. Framerate is fine and the controls are pretty good. The only real complaint I had is that the weapon choice screen doesn't tell you what they are. After selecting a weapon it goes back to the main screen though and tells you there so it's only an irritant, not a serious issue.

Some reviews said this is just a lazy stretched update from the iPhone version and not real optimization. So basically it's just like playing the iPhone version @ 2x. :(

Come on Team17, give us real optimized graphics for the iPad even if you won't add additional content for early adapter fans to double dip.

Actually, I think it looks good and plays well. There are no jaggies or any other indication that the game was just stretched like, say, FRUIT NINJA HD.

I remember waiting for Worms to come out on the Playstation.
We used to have Worm parties all the time. I remember passing the controller around because it was multiplayer but only with one controller.

This is tempting to pick up for 3 bucks. More impressions please! :cool:

Well if you don't have the iPhone ver its best to get this since they are both the same price now. And none of the Worms versions has ever been lower than this price. Unless you're waiting for a Star Hogs HD ver (but who knows if IUGO is working on this), now's a great time to get this game.

I just bought the game earlier today, so I barely know how to play at this point. Overall, though, I'm happy with how the game looks. It's not nearly as bad as I expected based on reviews.

I checked out the multiplayer. You can add up to 4 teams to the game, with any combination of human or computer controlled opponents. If you have more than one human player, the game becomes pass and play. No online, if that's what you're expecting. The multiplayer game plays well. The computer is tough and I suck at the game, so my games have been quick. I still need to learn the controls. If you're looking for local multiplayer, than this is your game (if you like Worms games).

I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with Worms HD. But if Armageddon is coming, and is as good as the PC version of yore, I'll buy 5 copies.

They celebrate the release of Worms 2 in general, ie on other platform than iPad. Myself I didn't like the AI and the controls but to be honest I gave up very fast, too fast. I would suggest to relative newbies like me to play first Hedgewars, it's a rather good clone, much more clear and with better controls plus many options and some to make the game easier (or not).

That would explain a lot (lack of any ads, information, or previews running up to today), but why would you put a big ad saying "Worms 2 available now!" in your iPad game without mentioning that you're really just talking about the PS3?

My excitement is hereby quashed until we get some real information. It's not even clear what "Worms 2: Armageddon" means anymore, as the version for PS3 is more like "Worms Reloaded, with no map editor and maybe less customization" than the real "Armageddon". Still, it would be better than Worms HD!

Still, the update text in worms hd is more confusing. It cleary says worms 2 IN THE APP STORE!

This kind of game begs for asynchronous multiplayer...the developer(s) who give us that will make some big bucks.

Seems as if Worms 2 will not be featuring ANY online multiplayer as that would be one of the first things they would mention if sales are an important detail.

Although "iPhone and iPad versions dropping simultaneously" implies it's not universal, which is a shame. I'm hoping for better performance and more customization, too.
