Just read that this amazing game has only sold iPad 100 units since launch. I can't believe it! I know it's early days but this is such a fun game. Please someone tell me that it's doing better now.

I've bought the iPhone version and I like it, but there's no way I'm buying the exact same game again.
Make it a universal app please.

I would love to play this in HD, but it looks pretty good, and plays great using 2X iphone version... Right now, I am looking at purchasing new content instead of purchasing old games that have been redone in HD. But, I agree this is a great game, and I would think that a lot more than 100 people would not have purchased the iPhone version...

No additional content? Then this should be a universal app.

We have been working hard on making sure you have the best experience as possible on the iPad. The new update 1.01 is now available in the appstore. (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iblast-moki-hd/id364197277?mt=8)
- Support for landscape orientation left and right
- Added new HD graphics
- Physics engine has been improved and the last 2 levels of mountain land have been tuned to be easier
- The editor layout has been improved to optimize the usage of the iPad screen
- Fixed teleporting bug while manipulating items.

Should have been universal, would have gotten a big jump in games sales like Metal Gears Solid Touch and Cliffed for being universal. I'm actually glad the game sales on this are low.

We are actually working on an update with dedicated content for iBlast Moki HD.

Any idea of what dedicated content will be in iBlast Moki HD? A space world by any chance? :)

First, sorry for double post.
Second, how dare you! iBlast Moki is worth way more than the price it's at, especially the free for a day promotion. This way, the devs can make their hard-earned money from people who got it for free that day.

Well I actually supported the developer and bought the iPhone game the very first day it came out. There isn't a good reason why it shouldn't be universal at the moment other than to get others who already bought the game to pay for it all over again. I think it was even a TouchArcade article that even listed this game as pointless to buy if you already have it on the iPhone.
I don't like having to buy the very same game all over again. I've done that enough with these other lame HD games and got jipped for the extra price. It sucks that only 5 of my games I got were universal and these are the game makers I would rather support, the ones that don't want to jipp others

Ok, ya know maybe I was a bit too harsh, I apologize...I really did love the game on my iPhone, I did and even got some of my friends to buy it on their iPhones or iPod Touches. I just started feeling I'm re-purchasing a lot of my games on the pad and feeling I got them for no good reason & blew off a lot of money on it, and almost did the same with this game.
Anyways, I won't be buying the HD version of iBlast Moki (which is a shame) because I don't feel like re-purchasing anymore games i already paid for, but I hope your HD version sells much better. It really is a good game, it deserves more sales, and had a lot of fun with it
You're not alone. I bought this game on iPhone and don't see any iPad specific features to warrant buying it again. I realize there is some effort to port it to iPad, but a .99 in game upgrade to HD makes more sense for existing customers.

Agreed, but the problem there is that for new iPad customers what you suggest would result in them purchasing and app that wouldn't work on the iPad, buying DLC, and then it would work on the iPad. Hardly intuitive.
I do absolutely love the original iPhone game and I will buy this for the iPad when I get it, but I do wish devs would make the app itself universal where possible in the future. I hope they will.
But the iPad is a premium device, it could be argued that people who buy them can afford to buy the app a second time. Obviously they can, in fact. However the App store is a violently competitive landscape for visibility and devs need to do whatever to be visible.
If there isn't an iBlast Moki HD Lite, there should be! :) This is another way to go. iPad version could be a separate app but free, and you pay for DLC to get extra level blocks. Works well in a long game you can buy each world as you get to it.

Thanks Everybody for your support and your suggestions. I think we need to give you a bit more explanation.
The reasons we went for an iPad specific version :
- The first reason is that we really wanted to be part of the launch. The version of plus+ is only iPad specific and there was no universal version of Plus+ at the time of the launch. iBlast Moki is strongly based on plus+ especially for the login system to access all the online levels. So releasing an XL update to the iphone version without plus+ would not make any sense.
- The second reason is that we started to work on this version kind of late so we didn't have time to make sure it would still work with the iPhone version. Especially that the physics engine has been greatly improved and it doesn't work exactly the same way as the iphone version. We had to change/tune some of the levels, and if we did this to the iPhone version that would kill some of the saved configurations a lot of you have already done and tuned to get the best scores.
Regarding the price, as you already know there's only a few hundred thousands of iPad versus 80 millions of iPhone+iPod. So to be able to cover our development cost we have to have a price higher than the iPhone version to have a chance to cover our expenses, which is far from being done as you already know.
Unfortunately those reasons pushed us on releasing an iPad specific version. So yes, iBlast Moki HD in its current state is really a major graphics upgrade and mainly a lot of interface redesign but the gameplay/content is about the same as the iPhone version. So as TouchArcade wrote, if you already have the iPhone version you should not expect a big difference, if you don't have iBlast Moki and have an iPad you should definitely get iBlast Moki HD.
For the future of iBlast Moki, we really want to improve the iPad version. We can't tell you more right now, but we are working on some really nice improvements and we are sure that those will justify buying the full iBlast Moki HD version.

LOL. Love how people knock an iPad game for not being universal. Like they expect devs to simply press the "Export to iPad" button within xcode to generate a larger version. It requires a lot of work, new artwork, new touch-management... new everything.
Yes plenty of devs create univeral apps. But don't immediately assume everyone who creates a custom iPad version is evil. :D

At first I was a little upset dev's did not port more games to the iPad from the iPhone version but if you step back and think about it the extra money generated from the iPad could lead to better, new iPhone games.
Hiring someone to redo the artwork for a larger screen is costly I'm sure.
I don't mind spending the money on iPad games anymore as long as there is extra content.

How about the price point? Most of these apps have required some reworking but your telling me I should pay more for a facelift on an existing app then a new one?

I am actually tempted to buy this at $2.99 but I already own the iphone version and it looks pretty good on the ipad. I really wish there was something added here to push me over the edge.

There's supposed to be extra content added soon. Probably even more if there are more purchases... ;)
I feel that if anyone likes to create lots of levels, they should definitely get this version, since there's so much more accuracy, and a larger area to work with.

I also played this on the Touch, but this type of game is perfect (better) for the iPad. With the sale, I decided to throw the dev $3 to say "I like your game, and thanks for supporting the iPad."
I forget what I paid for the phone/touch version... A buck or two. So I chalk this $3 purchase for the HD version as a $5 total purchase for both, and still think it's worth it.
Common Pad owners... if you like the game, it's still very cheap to support the developers! And you get a nice higher-res version of the game for the goodwill gesture.

Well, does the ipad version look a lot better? I put the iphone version on my ipod and increased the size and I was pretty happy with it. If the graphics are way better on the ipad version, I will buy it.

How do you like the iPad version so far?
Great! I've only breezed through the tutorial levels so far, but the higher-res screen is nicer than the iTouch screen. My only observation, based on limited game time, is that the default camera is back a little far, and I found first thing I did on each level was to zoom in. That might have been just a personal preference.
With that said, from what I see it's not much different than the phone/touch at 2x... Just sharper. Not way better though. At least currently. But I'm cool with that.
Anyway, the HD version is a must-own for Pad owners who don't own the previous game. And those that already do, an extra $3 is a nice gesture to the dev IMO, and hopefully supports a sequel or new content for this version. Or even a completely new game of the same caliber. I don't think the dev is trying to "double dip"... They were supporting the launch of the iPad the best they could with limited time and resources.

@love2spoon, yeah we didn't redo the elements on the terrain as we were thinking that the zoom of the view would stay the same, and you would prefer view more of the map. DaverJ also had the same comment.
We might improve them in a future update, thanks for your comment.

Yes. The thing is, most of the high quality iPhone games (like this) already look really good, even when the size is doubled. I am happy to double dip when the price is .99 but I think devs would be wise to focus on content if they want people to buy the game a second time. Angry Birds comes to mind.

Price drp to $0.99. Get it !!
Just got it based on the reviews here and the price drop. Great success!
Never played the iPhone version but I have to say this game is great. I have only played the first world but I am enjoying it thoroughly. Nice smooth graphics and fun gameplay. For 99c this is a bargain. Get it while it's hot.
I hope more official worlds come out in the future, although you can play random levels from the net easily enough. I prefer structured worlds though, still a great option.
