Thanks for posting this. We are pleased to announce the availability of Babylonian Twins HD. The iPhone version will be available on the app store anytime.
We love platform games, especially puzzle platformers of the old days. Games that inspired the creation of the Amiga version of this game include: Superfrog and Lost Vikings on the Amiga and Konami's Maze of Galious on the MSX. This game combines fast action and puzzle solving in a unique two character gameplay.
We look at this release as the foundataion of the best puzzle platformer on the iDevices. Please feel free to post your feedback on this forum or directly to us at www.babyloniantwins.com/contact, your voice and support will help us shape future updates of the game.

Just got it a little while ago due to the price. Pretty good. Only complaint so far is that I wish on the iPad there was a button, maybe below the d-pad, that switches between the twins...I'm sure it's fine on the iPhone, but on the iPad it's a little bit more of a stretch. Would just be much easier if there was a button to switch characters closer to one of the thumbs, also for entering doors wouldn't be too bad either.

Thanks for your feedback.
You don't need to press all the way up on the corner to switch characters, just press anywhere above the dpad, that is basically all the upper left corner of the screen.
Same for the doors, you can press anywhere in the middle of the screen to enter doors. But you might be right that it is bit far from the finger.
I think in general having too many buttons will clutter the screen. I will wait for more feedback from users and then decide what is the best way to go.
Thanks again.

Hi,
Sales happen, just the nature of business in the appstore.
If the game was worth the price you paid, then why complain, you got your value.

If you want a dated side scroller, this is for you. It harks back to the C64 days and is well priced at the moment on offer. In my opinion not worth the original 4.99 asking price...

What was your opinion before you bought it?
Obviously you thought it was priced right for you to buy it, correct?
Judging from your posts in this thread, you just are not happy the game went on sale after you bought it.
Happens all the time and you just have to accept it, there really is not any help for you on that.

I own both the iPhone and iPad versions and I definitely recommend the iPhone version on a 3GS over the HD version. Despite the more powerful CPU, the iPad version runs at 30 frames per second. On my 3GS, however, the iPhone version runs at a smooth 60 frames per second (which is much more pleasing for a 2D platform game). What's even stranger is that, when running the iPhone version on the iPad, you also only get 30 fps (which is what the iPhone 3G and older iPod touches produce).
So, basically, 3GS + iPhone version is the best way to experience this. Disappointed that they only get half the framerate in the HD version.

I've been playing the iPad version and think this is a great game. I'm only on level 3 or 4 at the moment though.

I purchased it on the basis of TouchArcade's Best Game of April, PC Magazine's top 10 iPad game, only to be let down. Have you played the game?

Hi,
Yes, I have played the Iphone version and enjoyed it.
I am not familiar with the earlier version of this game so I was not comparing it to anything, just enjoyed the gameplay.
My son, who is more of a gamer than me, has enjoyed playing a lot.
I look more at what other users say than a site or magazine has to say, or just a gut feeling sometimes.
My purchase was a gut feeling and I do not regret my purchase, no matter the price.
It is a shame you do not enjoy the game.

I guess I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I am only on the tutorial level and already having trouble. :(
I get to the point where the informational box appears that says to use the statue to hold the button down, but when playing as the male twin there is no statue near the button. When I am the female twin, the statue is right there. So the female twin can get under the closing door, but the male twin (the one who dashes, not spins) cannot get under the door.
Also, when I switch twins, they are not in the same spot in the game. The female twin has reached the point where the informational box says to use the male twins dashing ability to break through the wall, but the male twin can't even make it through the closing door at the start of the level!
What am I doing wrong?

Use one twin to stand on the plate to open the door. While standing on the switch, change to the other twin, and have then go through and do all the stuff they need to. Come back with that twin, stand on the plate, and change to the other twin, then the door will stay open, allowing that twin to go through and do their stuff. There is a fair amount of having to go back and forth. The twins are not always used in concert, and there is a reasonable amount of time that one or the other will be acting pretty much solo, and then allowing the other to go through and do their thing. Hopefully this makes sense.

It does. For some reason I thought that the twins were always together--I didn't get that one twin could be in one place and the other twin elsewhere. I thought that the player (me) just switched back and forth between the attributes of each twin. Now I get it . Thanks!

There is save points in the game, represented by shields. Just touch one, and that's where you'll start from when dying or exiting the game. The levels have several each.
When the game first was released, it didn't have these, as it was trying to be true to the original, I believe, but was added as a compromise I think.
Works fine for me, but I'm an old school gamer... Didn't play the original, but I was around.. :) Platform gaming was definitely harder then, but somehow for the same reason, more rewarding...

Great game, just left a review. Love the artwork and the gameplay is superb. You switch between the twins to complete different actions, and it really feels like an old-time platformer game that has been transformed and enhanced for the iPad. It looks great and plays nicely. Touch controls so far seem spot on, and I like that you can save it along the way. Definitely pick it up if you enjoy solid, fun, challenging and engaging platformer games. And it looks like it's still on sale...

Love the game! Well designed and very addictive.
I'm stuck on the Dragons level, can't get to the last golden palm (i see it; it's the one at the top level, right side, Nasir needs to pass a gate and then drilll down - but how do i open the gate??
Im also looking for the square thingy to pass a guard. I'm assuming it's in the vase halfway through the level. I can get one character on the middle platform (the one almost above the fire) but not both presumably required to jump high enough.... HELP! Thx!
