Feeling light in the wallet after shelling out $500+ for an iPad?

An ipad-native full featured version of Klondike Draw 3 (http://itunes.apple.com/app/card-shark-solitaire-free/id364908567?mt=8) is available in the AppStore, 100% free!

I've submitted (this morning) a 1.1 update to address the few glitches that have been identified, but in the meantime please note that the existing 1.0 has an interesting bug. If you win Klondike, exit the game while it is displaying fireworks, then relaunch, you will find yourself with backdoor access to the full list of 36 games from Card Shark Collection Deluxe including not just additional solitaire variants but Hearts, Rummy, Crazy Eights, etc. Anyone interested in exploiting this glitch should grab the game immediately, as Apple's been approving updates very quickly as of late.

So I did the above thing, and now appear to be stuck with some other version of solitaire. How do I get back to the choices again?

Cool game though.

I'll honest with you. The game is not looking (graphicly speaking) as good as other solitaire games. The graphics are good for the iPhone but not for the bigger screen. Even the buttons look deformed.

I hope you find time to polish Card Shark because it has the best set of features.

to get back to Klondike after exploiting this bug, you need to win the new game or delete the app from your device and resync.

On related note, update to full version (universal app) is just about done, with tons of new ipad cosmetic and usability changes applied, including beautiful new ui, new high res ipad specific backgrounds, and ability to use custom backdrops/card backs from your photo library.

Card Shark 5.0 universal build was submitted last night. If Apple approval doesn't happen by tonight, I'll post a teaser screenshot or two here. I'm totally exhausted. There's always room for improvement, but I spent almost the entire weekend exclusively massaging the 5.0 Card Shark update, and am pretty happy with how it shaped up. I must say, I'm personally surprised how fun it is using custom backgrounds and card backs.

I am anxiously awaiting this one. I have thought that Card Shark on the iPhone was the best graphical representation of solitaire on the platform. I think that you also have the most games...

That's great news. Did you happen to add win/loss statistics to Rummy 500? Any new games?

Yes to the Rummy question. Here's the "What's New" from itunes connect:

"This update includes support for seven new games: Old Maid, Go Fish, War, Thieves of Egypt, Josephine, Red and Black, and SeaTowers. Other changes include fixes for statistics and audio, misc bugfixes (Euchre), the ability to use your photo library for custom game backgrounds and card backs, and last but not least, native iPad support."

Of the new batch of games, "Go Fish"is my personal favorite. You have to pay close attention to have any chance of beating the 3 computer opponents.

Sounds great. This is a fantastic game and one of the best values on the app store.

I would like to make two requests if you ever do another update. Could you please add Montana and Australian Solitaire?

Apple's been sitting on this for two days. In the meantime, here are three screen captures.

Card Shark Deluxe 5.0 (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=306967807&mt=8) has just been approved by Apple.

To answer your question, I'd be surprised if there weren't updates for years to come. I get a lot of nice feedback from users every day, and it's my wife's favorite game. I've queued up your requests for a future update.

Quite a wonderful update. The backgrounds are great. I think that the old version had a number of card faces and backs. Not a complaint - more a question of why the did not get included.

The blue I in the bottom is really intuitive as the method to access the games or the menus. I would suggest having a button that says "MENU" for clarity. I am not sure if it just me but some games the cards look tack sharp ( tri peaks) and in Klondike the faces look "soft".

But , I think your game has been one of the best, and all the games almost fill the entire screen. For value, no other solitaire comes close.

Ok I figured it out. The games that use smaller cards are really crisp. The ones with larger cards look softer. Maybe iPad resolution won't adequately resolve these to the same appearance as the smaller ones.

Great update! 5/5

Suggestions:

- limit the card size to e.g. The Tri-Peaks one. I think the e.g. Golf size are too big and it seems it loses resolution

- Golf easy mode (you can place card over king)

- Kings Corner: it i'd addictively hard to win

I think you have a huge list of new solitaires buy maybe you could consider tweak the card size.

Thanks.

Another suggestion. Take a look at the strategy for Spades when a computer player has bet Nil. They frequently take a trick when they don't have to.

Regarding card resolution, thanks for the feedback. I will probably end up increasing the texture detail in the next update rather than make the cards smaller. Even on the iPad screen the biggest card sizes are still smaller than real playing cards.

Wow, an universal app? I'd have been more than happy to support you. Now both me and my father (he's a great Card Shark fan) have one more reason to get an iPad once it's available here. Thanks Phil!
