As im sure many of you know, kids love to play with iphones/ipod touch's. My little siblings/cousings/whatever other kid is around me is always begging to play with it but the truth is, I dont have anything that they would enjoy anyway. So I was wondering, what are your kids/siblings favorite games to play? (When i say kid i mean from like 5 to 10 years old)

My nephew (?.....niece's son) is totally addicted to my Touch. Edit: Let me rephrase that. My nephew is totally addicted to the Touch iPod that is an Apple product which I just so happen to own. Now his mom wants to get him one (yep.....he's only in kindergarten but plays X-box on 42" screen so....) and is asking me about pre-school word/spelling games. I'am way too lazy and is time consuming to sift through hundreds of word games to find these type. Can anyone mention any off hand that they can think of? Appreciate it greatly!

Charada (http://appshopper.com/games/charada), Scoops (http://appshopper.com/games/scoops) and Snail Mail (http://appshopper.com/games/snail-mail) are my niece's favorites; she is 9, for those wondering.

Fun Fact: This post is the first time Charada (http://appshopper.com/games/charada) has been mentioned in these forums.

Scoops or Alphabetic.

Thanks for mentioning Alphabetic :D

The next release of Alphabetic will include a Custom game mode that allows you to define the difficulty of the game and/or switch off the timer, so it's going to be even more suitable for (younger) children. It is the single most requested feature I have received from Alphabetic players.

Stitch'em Words. It might be a little hard for them because you have to have a really good name-picture association, but once you get it it's great.

I would suggest Ball Slam Fantasy for the kids. Yes the name might not indicate that but its a colourful cartoon like brick breaker game (which we developed I might add :D )

Check it out at http://www.ballslamfantasy.com or search for it on the app store.

allowing children to play with such a delicate device... no
First of all, it's not delicate, my 5 and 7 year old have been using the device for months and no problem so far, VERY durable product.
Just put a SPECK silicone case on it and InvisibleShield.
Or maybe you're just shady...?

3 kids aged 6-11 and we got them Touches instead of DS's this past holiday. Best move we ever made. Quality affordable games and they can still watch videos on long trips.

Anyway, they're favorites right now are Topple, Lemonade Tycoon, TapDefense , and AirCoaster. I let the older one's play iDracula as well since there's really no blood or anything.

The youngest enjoyed the Crazy Skeleton app like you wouldn't believe. Would spend the longest time just shaking that little guy to see what he'd say next.

I'd also recommend Bloom so they can make they're own music and Brushes so they can finger-paint their own pictures.

Toki Tori (really really cute, I love it)
Sally's Spa (really cute graphics, maybe a bit hard for kids since it requires quick fingers and time management but it's fun to mess around with, and it's cheap)
Catchamouse 2 (definitely recommend this, extremely simple and really cute graphics and sound)
Dance Dance Revolution Shake (my little brother loves it, has extremely high replay value and the music is simply superb compared to other titles in the genre in my opinion)

Good move. Yea I'll second that AirCoaster 3D (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=304605624&mt=8)...my kids were literally getting dizzy and screaming for quite sometime. I thought oh boy here we go another ripoff entertainment app but it does what it purports to do and does it well. Another two for young girls is Fashion Fix (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=313868141&mt=8) $2 and iStyle (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=310146300&mt=8) $1 try demo (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=312352157&mt=8).

Same here, wish the iPod Touch was released before the DS since i bought 2 DS units which have not been touched ever since i got the iPod Touch.
I let my kids play my Xbox 360 also and they haven't played that as well.

I am the developer for this game. 123 Count with Artie (http://itunes.com/apps/123countwithartie)

I wanted to make a game that kids would enjoy playing, and learning at the same time.

Next week there will be more: Artie Anteater is Angry, ABC Matching, and ABC Letter Tracing.

I am new to this forum. It's come highly recommended by my friend who has posted many times, JBmoney13.

We've gotten a user review from a parent saying their three-year-old grabbed the concept of SPiN quickly and enjoys playing the game. The Free Play mode was added with children and stress-free gameplay in mind.

SPiN does offer a challenge for a very wide range of gamers, though. We have at least one jedi ninja pushing beyond four billion points in Arcade mode. A player like that is able to recognize and match an object in less than 150-200 milliseconds.

The Rootz series is a fun interactive book series for kids. Mine enjoyed the free one (Malcom Mushroom I think) so much that as new ones were released I purchased them all. Their favorite is Postman Plum, it has the element of surprise that keeps them coming back to reread it often. Check out the free one and see what your kids think of it.

Kids over 5 or 6 really dont need baby games. My 7 year old got 19 planes landed in flight control in like her 4th or 5th game.
