And you honestly believe that exploit won't be patched before the final version of 4.0? Releasing a jailbreak now seems like a poorly thought-out idea, since the only people who might be able to make use of it are developers, and I doubt any sane developer has any interest in messing about with private APIs in a beta release.

I can understand wanting to jailbreak 3.2, but 3.1.x at this stage is pointless. I'd have expected the major groups to be concentrating on getting a release ready for the iPhone 4G launch date, and perhaps a backup 'sploit to release after the inevitable 4.1 security/bugfix patch.

all the current exploits that are being held back, including limera1n, works on firmwares 3.x and 4.x as well. the current JB for 4.x is a basic one that works simply because its a beta and theres lot of holes. its not something they tried for days to get but its rather easy to find and apple is aware of

of course if limera1n gets released before 4.0 final itll get patched, but so what? we have 3 other jailbreaks ready to go from different devs, all untethered so we have nothing to worry about

may as well release at least one so that the iPad JB scene can start up
