You mean cydia? Well cydia is an app that goes online every time to update. Also, if you want to download stuff, you download it from the virtual cydia store.

To be honest if you don't have wifi you're not really going to get all that much out of jailbreaking. Sure, you'll have themes and cosmetic tweaks like that, but you won't get to benefit from apps like SSH and Veency which let you access you iPod remotely.

Are you sure you really don't have wifi, or just think you don't? Most computers these days are equipped to be able to set up an ad-hoc connection easily enough - I've got my laptop setup to automatically create an adhoc network when I have WLAN enabled and no open/known networks are in the area.

Other than iFile and SSH, which I usually had running in the background, I used that mainly so that I can access my files quickly without taking my laptop out of its bag (actually uses surprisingly little battery life - and yes ,I am lazy :) ) and to stream music/movies from my HDD, but it also meant that if I was connected to the Internet via ethernet, my iPhone and any other wifi-enabled devices I had could share the connection.

Then find a wifi hotspot. There HAS to be one near your place.

What size is your iPod? If it's 32GB or above the boot process can take over 5 minutes if it's full, and probably longer since it's jailbroken.

Also, read this: http://www.ehow.com/how_6399990_set-ad-hoc-wifi-network.html

It's the procedure for setting up WLAN on XP, and should work much the same way on Windows 2k. The fact that even Win2k supported this should be an indication of what a standard feature this is. ;)

Lmfao...Dude honestly, I think you're better off just not JBing your Touch for the time being. Leave it and research into the subject some more, because you don't really know what you're doing and that's going to cause you nothing but headaches.
