I have a bug on my iPod (because of these new earphone models from Apple :() That makes the music play randomly without touching the iPod. So I was thinking if there was an app or something to stop an app from running EVER, so my iPod can't use the Music app randomly.

dont think there is, but you can make it so the iPod.app wont stay open (it wont background) by installing backgrounder, going to the override part and setting the iPod app to off

this could even solve your problem since it would have to be open to work, otherwise itll close

What "Override" part? :,( all I see is blacklist and enabled apps or something.

i had the same problem as you....my solution: Throw your ipod on the ground and run over it with your car 5x....then take a barrett 50cal sniper rifle (i had one lying around in my babies crib (he likes guns and hes only 2 months old, so much like his father) and then shoot the ipod 2x.

hope this helps and let me know if it works, i might publish a guide on how to resolve this problem if it works for plenty of people. :)

Given that practically everyone who's reported that problem is using the same set of earphones, I would think it's far more likely that the problem is a manufacturing defect in the headphones and not anything to do with your iPod (which isn't surprising since Apple's earphones have never been known for quality). Why not just buy a different set?

And yes, you could disable backgrounding for music, but then you wouldn't be able to listen to it outside the music app, which makes it a bit useless.

Tried this and it worked.. How to reverse it?

And my backgrounding has no override part anywhere, and I think it's not updateble right now... I'll check now.

you can probably use backgrounder to background the iPod app when you need it but if you cant and you need a music player then try a music player app off cydia

and the latest version of backgrounder is r447-1

Don't call it iPod.app :( it's music and video.app

If you want to get technical, it's actually MobileMusicPlayer.app.

But it shouldn't matter anyway, no jailbreak apps these days require you to manually specify app paths.

Is it normal for the override to take awhile to kick in? The music player went on again, then when I opened the app, it turned off

turn your ipod off and on
