I have this song I really want to listen to in my games and it's in my ipod's download folder (from Newgrounds :P) and I just want to add it to my library witout the computer/iTunes (mostly cause I have no access to one.)
I know that the music folder is a bunch of folders, with a bunch of songs with random numbers. Is there a way to rename/convert the mp3 in a way that the song library will recognize it?
Thanks if you help

I don't think there's an app that does that anymore. Not because it's not possible, but because when it was tried a while back (dTunes and a few other apps had a feature like that back in the 2.x days) it turned out to be practically useless, since the files would get wiped as soon as you resynced your phone.

Speaking of which, how are you able to download MP3s from Newgrounds on your phone? Every browser I've tried, and even the safari DL plugin I used when I was jaibroken, fails to fetch the file, some giving an error that claims it's an "incompatible filetype".

There is a beta mobile Newgrounds that makes all the audio files mobile compateble and some flash vids too (just links to YouTube vids :P)
Also, I have an iPod touch, not an iPhone.

Oh thanks, I'll check it out. :)

Any idea why the MP3s on the main version of the site don't work on the iPhone? Obviously I don't expect the flash-based streaming to work, but I can't understand why the audio files themselves don't work when I click the download button - I thought all MP3s were compatible with iPhoneOS, yet for some reason these particular ones fail to play.

Safari Download Manager might do the trick, if you can listen to it, then you can download it and costs $2.99, totally worth it

P.S. Don't try anything stupid or illegal

1. For now the only two ways I know how to do this is by:

A. Downloading DiskAid (free trial for 15 days or you can buy it) from http://www.digidna.net/products/diskaid.

B. SSHing into your device (which I'm not sure how to do myself).

2. With DiskAid, you open it on your computer and plug your device in. It will open on the screen.

3. On the list of files, click root> then click yes> then click var> then click mobile> then click library> then click downloads> then on the left side of the screen, it will show all the files downloaded on dTunes.

4. Drag the file you want onto your desktop, then open iTunes and drag them into your library and your done.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't mess with anything else in the root category on DiskAid unless you know what your doing.

Mewseek and pwntunes are your best bet....it will put the song directly into your Music.app folder. However ID3 tag editing is not available yet.

Here is a software to transfer all iPod content to the iTunes on your computer, including iPod music, movies, playlists, videos, podcasts, ratings, last played, and more. It's such a powerful one that many friends around me have used it for a long time. Easy and safe.

Those aren't much use, because the songs you've added just get deleted when you next sync

The files copied have unintelligible four-letter file names. To reveal the names of the songs and other data tags, add the files to the Windows Media Player or switch to “Tiles” view in Windows Explorer.
Rename the file if necessary.
or you can use third party program or more commonly called iPod Manager that has the iPod copying function such as Tansee iPod Transfer, you can google "site: softwarebbs iPod Transfer" to have a free download.
