iphone Questions

I don't own a iphone yet, but have a few questions. Can I buy a iphone, pop my at&t sim card in, and just use text/calling/wifi? Or since im on at&t do i have to have a data plan?

if you buy an iphone 3g yes you can. it works with any sim card just make sure its activated because if its not you have to use pwnage tool to do it which isnt such a big deal.
