Sorry for the somewhat misleading title - the iPhone 4 itself is from the US, but i am not.
My uncle just carried an extra iPhone 4 with him and i'm wondering if I should open it yet? Seeing how i'm not in the US, I need to know a couple of things:
1. Is there a fool-proof to jailbreak/unlock the device so I can use it with my local carrier here?
2. Making a micro-sim out of my jumbo sim won't be a problem - i've seen several videos and I can cut it down to size.
3. If a carrier unlock is NOT available as of yet, can I use the iPhone 4 as an iPod (without the call features) or do I have to activate it on the carrier to actually be able to install games/apps/music on the device?
I've checked a lot of Youtube videos and other sites but wound up getting confused. Would appreciate if anyone could share their experiences so I can make a good decision.
Thanks
Kiran
