The year is 1957 and a fleet of flying saucers from Planet X have come to Earth. These saucers are under the control of the evil Brain Aliens who are abducting helpless human beings and taking them away to strange alien worlds to become slaves of The Giant Brain. Luckily for the human race there exist the Otto Matics, robots who police the galaxy in the name of all that is good and decent.

You are Otto Matic, the robot who is given the job of saving Earth from the clutches of The Giant Brain from Planet X. You must rescue as many humans as you can while defeating the Brain Aliens and all of their evil minions. Your mission will take you to strange and fantastic alien worlds which are often treacherous and will require Otto to perform amazing feats.

Your rocket ship will take you to each of the planets, starting with Earth. While on each planet you must save as many humans as you can, but be careful because the Brain Aliens will try to abduct the humans before you can save them. To escape the planet you must also collect rocket fuel. Once The Giant Brain has been defeated and peace has been restored to the galaxy, you will return to Earth with your human cargo where they will be freed.

In Otto Matic...

10 levels on amazing alien worlds!
Battle 25 different alien creatures!
Attack with 7 different types of space-age weapons
Fight off giant radioactive killer vegetables!
Ski behind giant metal sea monsters on a river of toxic ooze!
Ride soap bubbles across noxious lakes of slimy goo!
Get shot out of a cannon!
Rescue humans from flying saucers!
Ride bumper cars!
Drink radioactive potions to grow to 50ft tall!
Ride a zip-line to escape mutant radioactive robots!
Pilot a flying saucer and lay waste to an alien fortress!
Battle the Giant Brain from Planet X
And much, much more!

Otto Matic is simply the best game that Pangea Software has ever produced. This game really puts the action and adventure in the action-adventure genre! Great concept, great gameplay, and great visuals and audio make Otto Matic our finest achievement for both the Mac and the iPhone.

The screenshots look great. It looks like it uses a d-pad for controls.

Yep. I hope they include the option for tilt though, I didn't mind it :)

I have bought Cro-Mag and Nanosaur from pangea. After those two purchases, I will never buy anything from them again.

I agree that tilt would be nice...I'm just wondering what that would look like in this game.

I would imagine that it would work exactly like Bugdom.... somewhat of a letdown...

Yeah, I remember Bugdom...let's hope Otto M is better.

I'll definitely be buying this one. It looks similar to bugdom which I enjoyed, but better. I think Pangea gets an undeserved bad rap, they've got some decent games (and plus a 99c price drop is inevitable)

I've been anticipating this, I think Pangea now knows the ins and outs of iPhone devving. I got an email from them about porting this awhile back.

Didn't Pangea specify somewhere that they stopped porting apps from the Mac and are now focusing on iPhone-only apps, due to its great potential in the market?

yeah but antimatter their first iphone only app was a stinker so probably they are going back the games they already know are decent instead of taking another risk at moment. antimatter shook my faith in pangea but this game looks kinda cool so i think i might give them another chance if the game is like 2.99 or something. i dont think ill pay five bucks for it

Pangea needs to learn how to really polish their game interface, menu, texture, etc.

Look at the setting's page on their games and you'll understand.

Bah. I hate these games. The only good game from them was Enigmo and even that's kinda hard to control on the iPhone. They really don't get the control right. In no game. And I don't think that they learn. They don't need to - people buy the stuff over and over.

Pangea, way to reuse bugdom, and also make the controls take up half the screen! Bad first impression

Wow look at the cluttered mess they call HUD!!! You would think they would take into account the tiny viewing area available since your thumbs will be covering a good portion of the screen moving and shooting.

It's really amazing how fast people are ripping this game a new one. This is the only company besides gameloft that has been bringing great content to the iphone. They are also one of the only company to offer 3D games on the iphone for platformer games. You forget that we have a device with no buttons and developers have to find a way to get a controller interface to work with their games. Bugdom 2 had the accelometer as their first attempt and character would go running across the screen crazy and you had to constantly stop him with another onscreen button. Then they incorporated what appears to be the same controls that are used in this game. I think we should thank Pangea for at least bringing us 3D games to the iPhone. i don't see to many developers brining 3D games out.

I think people are concerned that a really good game company that use to make quality games for the mac can't get the controls right after 3-4 games. Now that's bad.
