"Name That Unicorn Game" Contest! (WIN A $20 iTunes Gift Card!)

If you followed the Touch Arcade Game Jam at the 360|iDev conference earlier this year, then you may have already heard about the game we created in 12 hours that was tentatively titled "Punicorn Escape", where a tiny unicorn ran through a dangerous world trying to escape.

We've decided to pursue this project, and since then the idea has evolved, the unicorn has grown up, and the art style has changed, so now we need a new name that better reflects the new style.

Here are some mockups using the actual game artwork:

As you can see, we are still experimenting with scale and colors, and we intend to release it for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.


So now it's time to get your creative juices flowing and help us out and you could win a $20 iTunes gift card!

Post your ideas for the game name. Post as many times as you like. If one of your suggested names is chosen for the game, then you win the gift card. If multiple people suggest the same winning name, then the winner of the gift card is the one whose message appears first in this thread.

We will collect names for about 3-4 days and then create a Poll thread with 10 or so of the most promising names.

After narrowing it down to the top 5 we will run a second poll. The winner of the poll will not necessarily be the winning name, but it will heavily influence our decision.

We would prefer to keep the name to 3 words or less, but a name with subtitle might work too, like "Enchanted Unicorn: The Secret of Twilight Island".

That an interesting thought. I would have said the same thing about RUA, but it has definitely crossed over, either because of or in spite of the music. The art for it though is definitely not your typical male gamer style, but lots of guys are buying it.

In our game you are a real flesh and blood unicorn who shoots magic energy balls to blow up crystals, and picks up magic mushrooms as powerups as you run and jump your way through each level. :-)

We are pretty sure (or at least we hope!) that this will go beyond the pre-teen girls segment too.
