Just on time! I was aching for a good strategy fix, aside from the TD games. I was hesitating between Reign of Swords and Orions this morning, and finally went for the latter one, and I'm glad I did! I'll mess around with Orions until this little gem hits the App Store!

Who knows?! The devs haven't said anything about it since it was released last summer. Idiots! I mean, I'm sorry, but those morons could've been cleaning up for months now. And the game was already made! All they had to do was port it from 1.1.4 to 2.0!

I've heard the news about how they're planning to make a version for the iPhone so it sounds like it will eventually happen. It's just taking longer than any of us would like. I've played Reign of Swords, but it's not the same.

On topic: Great news! Reign of Swords was a good game and I can't wait for the sequel but its a bit different from Advanced Wars, maybe this will be more like it.

How do you afford a piece of hardware for $225+ and not afford an app for $4.99? This game looks awesome! Fire Emblem is going for $30 right now. This game could be worth $9.99+. Can't wait for it to come out.

I cant wait for it to come out because reign of swords' graphics just didn't quite do it for me after getting the light version. I would love more info as well as features. (i.e. different races, units, levels/worlds, online, modes, and anything else they have to offer that is and isn't unique to the game.) :)

We are thinking about making a strategy title (big fans of this genre ourselves), but we will see how our StoneLoops! performs on the App Store to decide if more complex games will recoup their budgets - after all you need to sell quite a lot of copies even at 4.99 to make profit on something like this (TBS/RTS).

I think there is room for more...with different genres:

fantasy (orcs, elfs, etc, heros) - greatest j2me ever is a good example (ancient empires 1 e 2)
mithology
modern war (like advance wars)
sci-fi (like uniwar)
ancient war (like Age of Empires on DS)
etc

i wonder why this new video hasn´t been featured on toucharcade.com?

advance wars and uniwar are the same as far as technology and aliens. They don't belong in different genres
