Restore Help

So... I got my iPhone 4 a couple weeks ago, and now I want to sell my 3GS. I have unlocked the 3GS on 4.0 by creating a custom firmware (RedSnow I think?). Now, I need to remove all of my info off of the phone to sell.

So the question, can I simply shift-restore with my custom firmware and keep the jailbreak?

From what I know, you can't. but you can just restore and redo the jailbreak. I used to have blackrain and I could have redone the jailbreak in a flash. Hope this helps! :D

I just figured it out, I can restore then upgrade to 4.0.1 and jailbreak with the new web tool.
That'd work right?

Yes the 3GS can be unlocked on 4.01 but the iPhone 4 has about 24 hours left until the unlock is released for it.

Alright, thanks. I am not concerned about unlocking the iPhone 4 since AT&T has me locked up for a while. Thanks for the help.
