Backup on iTunes problem :/

So I just updated to 4.0 using shift restore. Before I started the update, I backed up the files on my iPod 3 times. However, I restored from the backup after the update, and my game data is long gone.

I'm asking, now that I've already restored, is there anyway I can still get the data back? I'm okay if there isn't a way, it'll just take a long time to get it all back. Thanks in advance.

Sadly, idt so. My backups havent worked on iTunes in a lonnnng time. You should try and alternative backup program.

iTunes backups work just fine. The only time your media partition would be wiped is if you selected new device instead of restore from backup at some point.

See of the backup file is still on your computer and copy it to your desktop temporarily and maybe thru some Googlig you can find a way to restore it.

Well, I did restore from the backup. It's just that my apps didn't sync after the restore. I can't seem to find the backup, so I guess I'm just gonna get back my game data the hard way. Thanks though :)

If it did restore properly and the apps didn't come back after the sync, try attaching your device and going to the Apps tab in iTunes - then choose a couple of apps to install - there's a good chance that your data is there!

This happened to me, I had a failed restore after upgrading to iOS4, when I went to restore again it only installed the last third of my apps. Adding them via iTunes worked though - my data was there, it's just that the apps weren't.

I tell ya, it's very strange how iTunes handles this - put the data there, then the software to use it? If only we could have discrete app backups... (App File Sharing is a step in the right direction!)

Lol if the apps didn't sync after updating it's because they are cracked, and you need to re-jailbreak and download a certain patch. Then your games will sync back. The save data is still on the device.

In the future this kind of problem should be dealt with at a forum friendly to pirates!

No, I pay for all my apps. And yeah, I re-synced my apps, data still not there. Thanks for the suggestion :)
