Transfer Contacts & Texts From Jailbroken 3gs To New iPhone 4

Need some help, just got my sim free iPhone 4 today, and when I restored from a backup of my jailbroken 3gs running 3.1.3 only some of the stuff transfered over onto the iPhone 4, my texts, contacts, calander dates or recent calls didn't transfer over onto the new phone, only the apps installed themselves.

Anybody have any idea why? Or am I doing something wrong? Corrupt backup or something?

I've seen the apple guide on how to do a backup, just states the basics.

To answer my own question, i deleted the old backup from iTunes, did a fresh backup of the 3gs and then restored the new iPhone 4 with the fresh 3gs backup. Everything transfered over this time.
