Do note Kita, that news was from March 7th of LAST year. However Team 17 did say that it would be "2009". So sometime in the next 9 or so months?

I would not pay really for that, why? I'm unsure if it will be good on a so small screen, and I want it on XBox Live :p

I wouldn't be so quick to avoid it. The newest worms on DS is solid.

There was a clone that was going to be released for the iphone http://www.hedgewars.org/screenshots.html but I guess something is up now that team17 has stopped them!

Wow.. From the screenshots, Hedgewars look very similar to Worms (even the sound effects and graphics). It'd be cool if someone ported the code to the iPod Touch :-P

I took a look at at snails but I really want to try a demo before I cough up the 3 bucks. Yes 3 bucks really isn't that much considering that you keep it forever (I remember renting cell phone games that much on my helio service) but it's hard to justify money for apps now because there's almost too good content out there too buy!

I think snails orignally the "worms" of cell phone versions but now that the ipod has stepped up with the quality (and pricing) of "cell phone" games, I won't expect any less then what the iphone is capable of :)

well you cant

its really good tho. there's like probably 20 some missions and after you beat those you can play deathmatch and make your own games like picking the level and how many character you want to play with and against

pretty good game

I liked the concept of Snails Reloaded, however the game had some annoying technical issues and it hadn't been much updated for the iPhone - and so I gave it an average rating (5/10).

But it is proof that such a game can be successful on iPhone.

I was planing to start a new thread in 'incoming games' but I found this topic so...

Rumor: EA may obtain Worms mobile license (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/03/rumor-ea-may-obtain-worms-mobile-license/) [joystiq]

Mobile Entertainment reports it has documentation that "suggests (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/33007/EA-to-contract-Worms)" EA will become the exclusive global distributor of Worms on mobile platforms starting June 1. THQ Wireless currently holds the license, but given the publisher's shakeup in its mobile division earlier this year, this license transfer revelation sounds probable.

EA knows what it's doing in the mobile space, and given its affection for the iPhone, we have some high hopes and expectations if the mega-publisher does indeed take over the license.

Fingers crossed!

This is a 100% day 1 buy for me more or less regardless of price ... Team17 will produce a good game ... they've been going long enough
