Lol yes I felt sometimes in this trap but for not many games because not many gave me such feeling. A more frequent reason is that my attention get attracted to some other game and as time pass it's less tempting to come back to older.

Another reason not that rare is to get stuck in one game at some point, and finish forget the game for a while and then come back later is harder and harder.

There's also some games with no real finite campaign mode that just never finish because the replay value is extremely high, so you never really finish those games, until you just stop replay them a day.

But the main reason I don't finish a game is just that after some time a game start be less fun and I end decide it doesn't worth be played more.
