What is the best time management game?

I would say airport mania and hospital havoc are my favs. :)

my fav so far is the recent supermarket mania ... good mix of cartoony graphics and music, and decent difficulty curve

hell's kitchen is very good too, if not for the slow graphics at times, but liveable, and 3rd is chocolate shop frenzy ... relaxing and nice match-3 mini game included

least fav is diner dash, which is sad cos it was the first ... it was a horrible port ... small graphics and text and no enhancements done

Cake Mania 3 - This is the clear winner, in my opinion. Its graphical quality rivals Chocolate Shop Frenzy, but has meaningful upgrades, instead of a linear progression. The challenge is there too. Top-tier time-management. Second hottest girl.

Sally's Salon - Prior to Cake Mania 3, this was my favorite, due to the upgrade path that promotes interesting decision-making. Unfortunately, your upgrades run out half-way through the game and you just play out the remainder of the levels with the same loadout. Girl: not hot.

Supermarket Mania - A recent release that shows promise. It's fast-paced and has an upgrade path, but it's relatively linear. Tied with Chocolate Shop Frenzy, for the hottest girl.

Chocolate Shop Frenzy - Stunning graphics and personality, but the upgrades are automatic, which limits player choice. Tied with Supermarket Mania for the hottest girl. She looks younger, although she doesn't seem as smart.

Airport Mania - Again, a recent release. Thematically divergent from the rest of the crop, which is good, and the upgrades seem interesting. No Girl. Instead, it has an airplane with eyebrows....WTF?!?

Wedding Dash - Release after Diner's Dash and it seems like it may have resolved some issues present in the earlier title, but added some new ones. The characters are way too small and cannot be categorized as "fat-finger friendly". Girl: not hot.

Diner's Dash - While this was a progenitor of the time-management genre, the interface for seating diners in the appropriate chairs is clunky and it is also very easy to "plateau" or do well until a certain level and then beat your head against it forever. This makes the pacing seem pretty broken. The girl is hot, but in a cute, spunky sort of way.

Hospital Havoc - Too early for me to rate. The gameplay seems okay, but the characters are hideous. It's task-queuing seems broken, but like I said, I haven't played it enough to develop a final verdict. The girl is a hideous troll with giant lips and boogley eyes...not hot.

Hell's Kitchen - This is similar to a typical time-management game, but with Gordon Ramsey yelling at you the whole time. I hated it, at first, but I'm warming up to it. If you are a chef, it provides some actual Ramsey recipes. Gordon Ramsey = not hot.

Daycare Nightmare - Can't comment; haven't played it.

Are you really rating the time management games on the "hotness" of the cartoon characters?

Hospital Havoc (by far the BEST!)
Airport Mania (Delightful TM game and a real challenge)
Cake Mania 3 (can be quite hard)
Supermarket Mania (FUN!!)
Chocolate Shop Frenzy (Also very fun)
Sally's Salon (love it)
Wedding Dash (Also fun!)
Diner Dash (I just got the lite version so I can't really comment but others have liked it)

Honorable Mention
Daycare Nightmare (Gets boring after awhile but is still fun plus some of the baby monsters are adorable)

Have you even played it? AND the price is $2.99 plus there will be a lite version.

It is the best TM game. Why are you judging a game you never even played? I suspect an agenda from your badmouthing Hospital Havoc.

You didn't answer the question on whether you played it. That is my opinion as you have your own. No one can say for certain what is the best and it's all subjective. We all have our own different tastes but we are free to say what WE feel IS the best.

You make no sense.

Donburns99

Let's stay civil now, we're all on the same team here. ^ ^

If you've never played the game, please don't judge it as far as saying "it's not the best or even close". It may very well not be the best, but until you play it first hand just stay neutral about the game and say good or bad things about the ones you have played.

There is no need to badmouth a game you haven't even tried. :)

Finally, not everyone has to agree with your opinion either, as we all have our own. Seems contradictory to say one game is the best, and then flip out on someone else just because they don't agree with you. :p

I can vouch for Airport Mania - great little game for a buck. Cool sounds, unique theme, variety of upgrades that add a bit of depth and pretty challenging and increasing difficulty level. There are also star ratings, so it's nice to try same levels a few times in order to perfect them.

Cheers,

Hospital Havoc
Supermarket Mania
Airport Mania
Flight Control (Time management in a different style)
Daycare Nightmare
Chocolate Shop Frenzy
Hell's Kitchen

I want to try (in order of most to least):

Sally's Salon
Cake Mania 3
Diner's Dash (maybe)

I am talking about quality to price ratio here. You can get the highest quality games with many times more production value for 7 bucks.

I have to agree - I HAVE played HH and while it is a good game, I don't think it's the best TM game in the app store. I've bought all of the TM games and I think that Supermarket Mania is the best of the lot. To me, SM has the best storyline of all the TM games. Any of the TM games would be a good choice (except for Diner Dash) - just choose the one that looks the best to you.

It's currently $2.99 by the way. As a new developer to the AppStore, they may not have had as much knowledge as you and others about common pricing. They appear to be adjusting accordingly and learning as they go.

Still, price has nothing to do with the quality of the game and how it ranks as the "best time management game".

Update
"High production value" does not always make a good game, but I see what you were going with there.

I'm having TONS of fun with Supermarket Mania. In fact, I'm almost finished with it. It'll be the first of it's type I've finished. And I own a couple others. This one has great graphics, nice comic book-style cut scenes and unobtrusive muzac. And it was only 2 bucks. Can Hospital Havoc beat that?

I suspect an agenda from your badmouthing Hospital Havoc.

You've got some nerve having a go at him like that, what with that "BUY IT NOW!!!" review of Hospital Havoc you just happened to post after the developer gave you a free copy.

Sorry, and I know I shouldn't have brought it up again, but honestly, you had no business accusing him of that.

As for me, I've purchased Airport Mania (AM), Hospital Havoc (HH) and Diner Dash (DD). I bought all three legitimately and have had no contact with the developers of any of them. That said, I'd give my vote to AM in a heartbeat, and if I were to be honest, I would rate DD ahead of HH.

HH needs some sort of fun patch. I don't know, it's just... not as enjoyable.

Jeez guys, lets all calm down about this "candy must be paid off to rant about xxx game!" and other accusations!
In case you haven't noticed, the very title of this thread is subjective in the first place!
There is no absolute answer as it differs from everyone's tastes, desires and even financial budget. 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 put forward her opinion that Hopsital Havoc is her favourite above all others, and this may even be because its one of the latest games she's bought. If the person who accused her of getting a promo code and forced to give a glowing review actually read the other post on HH, then they might know that she was sitting on the fence for a while and then bought it and loved it.
For the record, I bought AirportMania afew days back but never played it. Upto then, my favourite was Sallys Salon. Now I would say AM is very good too, with great music and probably the best TM game for me, right now. So, does that mean AM is the best for the original poster? Maybe not. That's entirely down to him/her to decide. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but please avoid the accusations. Its stupid, pointless, and unnecessary.

I hate time management games. I don't find them fun. I tried Sally's Salon and after a couple of minutes I stopped playing. I played Airport Mania and after a couple of minutes I stopped playing (I got them for a buck each). From the first time I picked up Hospital Havoc I was utterly and completely hooked. Easy is too hard for me so I'm waiting for Kiddy mode to go through the whole thing. I can see spending 30 hours easy on it. So that's my favorite, and made go back and give the other two a chance sometime in the near future. But HH for me is the best :)

djflippy and soup - the task queueing in Hospital Havoc is not "broken." The dev said in the app thread that he tried it with the queue and without the queue and he wanted to try a different type of game that really felt like "havoc" running around and that not doing queueing was a design choice.

LOL, no. They are rated for gameplay, roughly from best to worst, unless stated otherwise. The "hot or not" was just for fun.

BTW, I like Flight Control also, but I just wish it had more player choice and levels, but those may be on the way. The controls are brilliant.

$1 games can't go wrong Sally's Salon, Airport Mania, Supermarket Mania (in that order too). Although Supermarket is a tad different in the since not as many decisions to make compared to traditional ones.

$1 Daycare Nightmare....I don't like this one too much cuz it'll break your queue up everytime you gotta heat up the baby bottle. Reminds me of Nanny Mania and I almost had a seizure playing that one.

Hell's Kitchen $3 not too keen on switching screens from kitchen to dining area.

Havoc Hospital (ok read not queued on purpose) I can't get used to that no way not in this lifetime.

Cake Mania 3 (gonna try this puppy soon) although clicking zoomed in cake bake machine doesn't have me going gagga over it.

Wedding Dash I do like them on my mac though the graphics too look kinda poor on iphone version though which I don't care too much about that but if it effects being able to quickly tell exactly what they want then it may have issues. Same thing with Dairy Queen Tycoon playing on my mac my daughter had issues (same with me) telling apart a Blizzard from a Soda drink since the cups are both the same dark blue.

Diner Dash I believe just came out with demo so gonna try that one.

Chocolate Shop waiting for price drop demo was way too short.

It's a great game though, even if it consists of just the grill and the serving counter.

Im trying out the lite version right now - thanks for the heads up on this game!

And speaking of food related time management games, I would love to see a "Burger Island" port - thats my absolute favorite time management game on my computer

Speaking of burgers and time management...

A+ Burger is a type of time management game:

There's a Lite version available. I find it boring and without variation.

Then there's Fast Food Nation:

This one could have been great but the promised update (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=24556&postcount=6) hasn't come, which is a shame.
I like the gameplay but the whole application need to be polished (using a popular word around here). It's very static and downright ugly but still somewhat fun to play.

I got the message below from the developer today:

Yes we are currently working on an update. BUt it's avery big updates
et we are not working full time on this so it takes longer than it was
suposed. But be sure that it's gonna be out in the next weeks.

Thank you

Cake Mania 3 - This is the clear winner, in my opinion. Its graphical quality rivals Chocolate Shop Frenzy, but has meaningful upgrades, instead of a linear progression. The challenge is there too. Top-tier time-management. Second hottest girl.

Sally's Salon - Prior to Cake Mania 3, this was my favorite, due to the upgrade path that promotes interesting decision-making. Unfortunately, your upgrades run out half-way through the game and you just play out the remainder of the levels with the same loadout. Girl: not hot.

I love playing these four time management games! :D
