Transfering game saves (via AppBackup)

I wanted to transfer the save files of some games on my old iPod to my new one. I remember reading somewhere that if you transfer the tarballs folder (gotten via AppBackup), transfer it to another iPod and restore the save to the same game, it will work. But when I went into AppBackup it said I didn't have a backup. Can I really do this, and if not is there another way to do it?

You can do this, but you must correctly backup and restore the correct files.

When backing up your AppBackup data, backup the WHOLE AppBackup folder( /var/mobile/Library/Preferences) to your Desktop or wherever.

And when restoring AppBackup data, make sure it is a fresh installation of AppBackup. Meaning you uninstalled it from Cydia, and deleted the AppBackup folder.

Then after the fresh install, copy the CONTENTS of your Backup folder, into the AppBackup folder(/var/mobile/Library/Preferences)
