Mail has an option to “Load Remote Images” which is turned on by default. What is it? We have no idea.That is to prevent spammers. Forgot what it's called webbug I think. Yea it's web bug http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_bug
Basically if you read a spam message it'll have a remote image many times 1x1 invisible white. Their webserver logs your email account as having accessed that email and thus they know yours is ACTIVE...say hello to another million spam in that case. I always like to disable loading remote images. If you do get a legitimate message you just click show image and your golden.

My only question to you is with Search. Can you disable searching notes, contacts, etc. In other words if I only want it to search apps is that possible in settings somewhere?

Watching webcast it clearly shows it as a page. Some were saying they should've made a gesture up/down to access page instead of left gesture to be able to access it from any page. But I'm pretty sure it's not a gesture but rather a flick to the right to access the spotlight page on the left. Correct me if I'm wrong. So to Access it it'll be HOME button (if not on home screen) then flick to right to pull it up each time.

Um....OK.......

There are 9 pages like now. Before the first one where Safari is is Spotlight. That's about the only thing that has changed. So yeah if you press the home button while searching in SpotLight you go to the first page. But Spotlight remembers what you were searching.

Right now we do not control what it searches. But it seems to search Music, Videos, Apps, Notes, Calendar Events. Not Safari though

Like I said the blog got it's hands on 3.0 beta. I just played with it and wrote on it.
Also I think I just got an email from Apple. OK never mind it was some random idiot.
On the other side did anyone notice that the Stocks icon was tweaked?

Edit: Now apps install from the second page on. You can install move them to the first screen though if you wish. Sadly the 9 page limit still exists.

They will most likely fix it.

OK; you have what you have now. Spotlight is before the first page; page 0 I guess. You can use it for searching only. That's it.

AND I am happy to say that iPod Touch users should now get google street view and those extra transit options! woo! I recommend THE FULL VERSION to everyone. people who don't like having to pay 10$ if you're on an itouch need to suck it up. it will be worth it.

+1. But you will notice some other stuff laggy or a bit slow. That will most likely be fixed in the full version so let's just wait and see.

Ok you know how if you type Blo and your searching for Block Breaker Deluxe 2 it will NOT show up in QuickGold. Instead you have to type BB cuz it's filename is BBD2. So in spotlight if you type Blo will Block Breaker Deluxe 2 show up?

ask the dev for who you tested. if you are still on the list you will be able to activate 3.0 on your iphone/ipod touch without jailbreaking (but you will have to find the soft by your own probably).

but i don't recommend it. it's not the best. :) i like it, but bluetooth and mms doesn't work for example, and there are games and apps that you can have problems with.

+1..........but i dont think it's as simple as being part of the beta testing process and then just restoring.

you have to be on a dev's list that is on apple server. if so - you don't have any problems with activating 3.0 on your iphone. cause in other way - sorry, no activation. and this means only emergency calls able.

if you are still on a DEVS LIST yes, you will be able to activate your iPhone/iPod touch (ask the dev!!!)

Well I don't work there. I write. And it's a long story.

The firmware file is all over the torrents. But no good without a developers account to activate with.
