Questions about Pre-Release Software

I have a few questions about installing a pre-release version of the iPhone OS on my iPod touch. Once the pre-release software (2.2) is installed on my device, is it true that i will not be able to use it for anything other than testing purposes?

Will I still be able to listen to music, browse the web and use third-party apps?

I don't know about 2.2 specifically since I haven't installed it yet, but in general Apple always puts that message about the device being locked for every release, but you can continue to use the device for normal purposes. I'm assuming 2.2 is the same.
