I believe the guns right now are well balanced and compliment each other in excellent fashion. Why do we need to change up the arsenal? What variety is lacking? I find people utilizing new strategies every day with our weapon set.

And hell, I'm usually one for pyros. I love TF2. I just feel we haven't even reached our full potential with the given weapons ;)

And a flamethrower is good up close. A strategy is some games is to hide behind something and surprise people. Flamethrowers are supposed to be lethal up close. But if that did happen, all you would have to do is get outta the pyro's range and snipe them.

I agree there is balance right now. All guns have varying freeze, spread, and damage. There's tradeoffs using every gun and I think it's better than releasing 15 guns with similar overpowered stats. I think they need another automatic weapon though. I would really like to see some pistols from the PC version. If anyone played the PC version, they'd know about how cool dual pistols are. It just made everything fun. Just badass.

Flash lights would be fun, we already do something similar when a gang base is taken over so it shouldn't be hard to add.

lol literally? The uzi had NO freeze. Like right now every gun on PC Era has more freeze than the uzis lol

The thing that confuses me is the Uzi reload. If you have a single Uzi, you can shoot 16 bullets before a reload. If you have dual Uzi, they each shoot 8 and you have to reload? Shouldn't they still each shoot 16?

Yeah but think about the balance here. If you had dual uzis shooting 16 rounds, how overpowered would that be? Nonstop uzi spam. Right now they're more balanced because they spit bullets like crazy but have to reload soon because of the smaller clip.

I sometimes like to use single uzi in spars for that reason.

Also, I'm still having major crash/lag issues. I've got a good connection, but sometimes my game freezes and then I'm dead. And when the app crashes 3 times in a row when I try to switch weapons, something needs to be done.

It isn't really the game. On the newer devices it never crashes and hardly ever lags.

There needs to be more transparency in the game. Some things like balance issues should be addressed in the news or at least an outside changelog. Also I am having the same lag and crash issues. The client is unstable for quite a few people I know.

And the lag, I don't know about. Is the server hardware inferior to classic's? They can handle 1000+ people. On peaks of 500 on Era I experience lag, and it's not my connection.

Have never seen lag on Era, the server barely has ever something to do so I'm not sure what the problem can be for you. We have not experienced any crash since the v1.1 update, if you have some problems then contact me via forum pm or bomber@graalonline.com.

I agree, for us hardcore pkers it would be nice to know when the gun stats change, when the pk rules change (vulnerable now after entering non-pk zone), etc. I understand that it would clog up the news with so many details, but maybe there could be a change blog or forum section that we could check for news about in-depth game changes?

I just had an awesome idea! I heard about the bounty system you were planning on making, and I thought this might be a way to work it. As gangsters we should be able to rob banks and as cops we should go after the robbers. as a gangster you go into the bank and rob it,(you go up to the desk and you pick up $100 per second, up to $3000) once you start collecting you are vulnerable to pk. So it is very hard to get much money because the moment you start collecting, cops will start shooting at you. As soon as you start collecting, message appears to all cops with an option to have alerts on: "(player name) has robbed the (name of bank)." as a cop, you have to kill this person before they get away to get a reward. and a gangster, you have to get to the edge of the map or one of a few getaway points without dieing to get keep the money, and if you die, go to a jail for 2 minutes. also, as a passenger in cars you should be able to shoot at other players from the car, so you can team up to rob a bank and split the money. There should be more banks than just the one, otherwise the cops will surround them. maybe have 3-5 banks. First a party system would be necessary, to be able to split the money for the gangsters that robbed it. A whole gang of 10 people might work together to rob a bank for a large amount of cash, and a team of 10 cops might work together to blockade streets with cars, and shoot at the robbers. Also putting down spikestrips would be cool. you dont need a car to rob a bank, but it probaly is a good idea because you go faster. it should automatically spawn your car outside when you rob a bank so you can get in it fast.

As for cars go, it would be cool to purchase upgrades for them. (EX: bulletproof windows: $500, decreases damage taken when in the car) speed upgrades would be cool too, although with the small screensize it probaly wont help. races and car tracks would be awesome, although the glitch with getting stuck in another car needs to be fixed first.

very true, I see players start out and try to use the bottom right button to move instead of the bottom left lol, and they keep firing until i say "use the bottom left button to move" and they start moving. Its funny that new people think the controls "malfunction" when they get hit by the poison gas.

I don't know, never happened to us. Try deleting it and reinstalling (it's free). The original Era+ version had some smaller crashing problems but we fixed it with version 1.1.

I have the same problem with the crashing when opening profiles on my older 2nd gen ipod running an older version of software. I guess I'll try updating. Bomber, maybe there is a problem with the script that enables the gui scripts in gscript for older versions of software, maybe try looking over it? (sorry if this sounds confusing I am a new programmer I have only been programming things for a few months)


Edit: lol Bomber nice way to make everyone happy by adding a ton of heads that come free on classic for a cheap in game price, instead of just making them all free like on classic.

Actually, I still lag slightly on my 4th generation ipod on Graal when on huge crowds or when a lot of data is being processed. Even the fastest of devices can have crashes if the app itself is scripted inefficiently, although having a faster device is helpful.

Era and Era+ are sharing the same stats and items, you cannot copy from Classic though. We could however enable transferring of character slots (not sure about rate hats or so though).

They should let users submit graphics. Honestly user submission was probably one of the coolest things about graal on the PC. I've seen the same graphics over and over for 10 years.

It's this kind of play that killed graal for PC. Back when there was roughly ~300 people total over all playerworlds, things were fun, there were people to interact with. But his unwillingness to go down to a more reasonable pricing model turned people away. $32 dollars for an 8 month subscription for a 2d RPG with free developers who pay the small company for server hosting. I remember when I was extremely reluctant to pay the $19 dollars. Ridiculous.

I hate the climate of this game at the moment, and it's what has caused me to put it down for awhile. There is no new content being released, just more things to make it a loldressup game to get more cash. There are plenty of devs and ideas. The same people who keep paying cash for the useless things. Too bad it won't change, everyone will keep paying money for recycled and recolored heads, bodies, and overpriced hats. Making me so disappointed. Casual game gravy train ftw.

Eurocenter is a branch of Linux Cyberjoueurs, the company owned by Unixmad, or Stephane Portha. I believe Stefan runs the Eurocenter branch and scripts the games for it, but Unixmad runs the overall company.

Is Zone ever going to come back to iPhone? To my understanding it was removed because many complained about the poor movement system (used accelerometer). Since a working graal client for iPhone has been made, couldn't it come back with similar controls to era, except full rotation of direction of bullets instead of up/down/left/right?

Also, do you ever plan on making iPhone playerworlds? By this I mean that there is a login screen and you can log in to other servers made by other players, with an affordable subscription fee.(for the players) the three servers Kingdoms, Era, and Classic could be "free servers" that don't require a subscription to play, and are supported by the in app purchases they currently have.
As for the devs, they should have to pay the current cost for a server, but they should be able to add a gelat shop (just like on pc, and needs to be tested and approved by a global admin to prevent scamming). The devs should recieve the option to recieve 10% of all gelat sales on their server in cash. This would attract many devs to put their full effort and time into a graal server, and the players would love the servers and pay the small affordable subscription fee (shouldn't be much more than 1.99USD/month)

Let's summarize this. Thousands of players will be paying for subscriptions to pay for the great servers created by devs, and some will spend additional money on gelats to buy stuff on various servers. Gs2 is an extremely easy language, and many new Devs will find Graal and many servers will be made, all supporting the reason to buy a subscription.

This is a common problem in small MMOs; larger variety of servers means less players per server.

We must be careful not to spread our ~2,000 player-base too thin. Case in point? Graal playerworlds for pc. This revitalization of graal through the iPhone has been an amazing boon, but a large part of this attraction is the thriving communities on our two servers. I believe splitting up these populations would only be detrimental to everyone's gameplay experience.

More playerworlds will attract more players, while maybe it will drop playercounts a bit. If you noticed when Era came out, playercount on classic didn't drop at all, if anything it increased, to my suprise. There will only be a few popular servers, probaly no more than 5-10. The rest wont have a large playercount, because theres really only a few type of servers to make, and players will all run to the best one. These types are: Classic adventure: Like classic (For PC) Classic casual MMO: (Like Classic iPhone and UN, although UN is much better :P) Modern(Like Era) and fantasy/ Kingdoms (Kingdoms iPhone will dominate this, and possibly Zodiac) of course, there will be a few special themed servers that will interest a few players, but will not recieve massive playercounts. An example of what I mean by this is Unholy nation recently had a higher playercount than N-Pulse because UN was better.What I am saying is More servers will attract more players, as we saw with Graal Era. My guess is if there are 10 good playerworlds made in addition to the current ones, 5000+ people will be online on Graal for iphone. (after a few months) Sure the average playercount per server will drop, but overall there will be many more players. 400-500 is a fine playercount for a server, Era has that many players. Classic iPhone lags on my old iPod because of the huge playercount in the main city, I kind of would prefer smaller playercounts. (about the size of Era iPhone, 400-500 each.)

No offense, but Graal (pc or iphone) hasn't seen these numbers, especially not recently. We are supposed to go on your "guess" that the population will more than double in the amount of time that Era has been out? You yourself admit to only ~500 players on Era "after a few months."

This has nothing to do with the playercount. Stefan has said here numerous times that he does not experience lag and recommends that you always update to the most recent OS and application version.

And there you have it, your true reasoning. You're not really concerned with population increase or server lag, you simply want to play with less players. There is nothing wrong with this desire, as long as you understand these are your own feelings and not necessarily the wishes of anyone else. Simply state that you want to have less players, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

However, it is incredibly selfish to disguise your intentions and attempt to press your own views into the game and affect the playerbase at large.

The player count should only increase. We have only touched a small percentage of the iOS player base, and the number of iOS devices is increasing each day, and we can also bring the game to other platforms, Facebook & co.
Additionally we have still a lot of potentional by adding new content and improving the game(s) :D

No offense, but Graal (pc or iphone) hasn't seen these numbers, especially not recently. We are supposed to go on your "guess" that the population will more than double in the amount of time that Era has been out? You yourself admit to only ~500 players on Era "after a few months."

This has nothing to do with the playercount. Stefan has said here numerous times that he does not experience lag and recommends that you always update to the most recent OS and application version.

And there you have it, your true reasoning. You're not really concerned with population increase or server lag, you simply want to play with less players. There is nothing wrong with this desire, as long as you understand these are your own feelings and not necessarily the wishes of anyone else. Simply state that you want to have less players, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

However, it is incredibly selfish to disguise your intentions and attempt to press your own views into the game and affect the playerbase at large.

Stefan, as for you, you need only look at your own example. Graal pc interest and playercount steadily declined over times of over-diversification. All your money-thirst will serve to this new boon to interest/population, iOS, is a similar fate. Truly, all you seem to care for in this diversity, is simply charging the same players over and over again. What little growth you have seen will be quashed under disgust as you attempt to woo your current playerbase into your other projects. Most Era players were originally from Classic, they in turn from pc, etc.

One more thing that concerns me is that if you get an ip ban at a hotel or coffee shop the next poor soul who connects to the wifi gets an account ban of your time .so ironically your security script isn't working in your favor.

I think an IP ban will only prevent you from logging in at that one location, not sure though. It would be pretty funny to get an IP ban and log on 2 hours later at your house :P

Events are out!

Please disable gas on at least racing events. On most servers, a slow effect like chill on zodiac or gas on era will make the player unable to move past an obstacle in which you would normally do the bomb glitch slide motion. This can make, or break a race, and gives one player an unfair advantage. And no, it's not strategy because you can't get past certain crevices.

I never crashed starting an event, yet again I rarely crash at all on Era with my 4th generation ipod, or even lag (well internet lags, but my character never "slows down". I personally don't recommend Era for people with devices older than 3rd generation, it is just way too laggy.(and crashes every 10 minutes.) anyways, if you crash getting the event pm you can disable it in options. If you crash while joining, there is about 20-30 people all in the same spot and that is a lot for the ipod's weak processor to handle, so that is why you are crashing. In a few weeks, when events lose there popularity, there should only be a few people in them. Then you should be able to play in events.

It is hard to use gas and crates when you have to sacrafice either a gun or a knife to have that slot open. I need a gun to kill enemies, and a knife for if they get close to me, and to melee the safe. Also, please make us able to equip medkits! It is hard to use a medkit because you have to open your profile and you cannot see the enemies. Also, add retina display for 4th generation ipods so we can see further.(iPads can see further, so why can't we?) Any idea when new weapons will come? we are all getting tired of using the same weapons. Weapons are probably the #1 most wanted update at the time.

I am using "we" to say the feature shouldn't just be for me... and I only used it twice.. and yes many people have also said they wanted these features. people are always asking me when more guns will come out (I don't know why lol) And the items that are used are not very powerful. bombs are almost useless as they hardly deal any damage, crates break easily, and healing items have to be used when no one is around. And you cannot get rid of guns or knives as they are needed together to take a base. If more buttons aren't added, then the items such as poison gas and crates will be considered useless and a waste of money. They cost money for a reason, they should be very effective. Also @ bmdino, retina display would allow many more pixels on the screen, which means more tiles. It is hard to dodge bullets unlike in era PC because you cannot see that far.

However, if weapons are going to degrade and I must constantly pay money to maintain them....that's ridiculously shady. It has been stated here numerous times (often by you, Stefan) that this is a game and realism is not a focus. I fail to see how forcing us to repair our weapons will increase any kind of fun factor. Is it to be like our shovels? Once I fire so many shots on my M4 I must run to the gun store and fork over more cash just to keep using it? Unless this has some sort of "fun gameplay" justification, I fail to see why this is a positive addition.
Hopefully, I am just jumping the gun and you do not intend to treat us this poorly.

The caveat of using bombs/crates/health packs is that you must forfeit an item slot and have another character cover you (this is why we have gangs).

If you make these items overpowered then they become absolutely essential to serious base-holding, leaving more than half of the player populace out of luck. This is why I encourage you to think outside of you and your friends' own desires. There is a clear line defining what you NEED and what you WANT. I would enjoy the power of these items too, but I know it would detract from many other people's enjoyment of the game. Balance is a tough pill to swallow, but it's only fair to consider ALL who play this game we love :)

You do know weapons already degrade? I mean it's at an extremely slow rate, but they do indeed degrade at this very second of posting. I'll just be a little upset if they make them degrade faster, but otherwise it'll just be a plus.

Alright, nobodys mentioned this yet, so I felt I had to say something. The effect of the crab melee is about 3x longer than the graphic! Please fix this cause it makes dodging more about luck than skill. Also, am I the only one who gets laggy when I'm hit? This really screws my spar...

You should at least add a house with a rock wall that you can start your own mine with. You start with a small room and drill other walls to find more sections.

Found a very annoying bug. If you are using skateboard and you are warped to crab wrestling, maybe other events, you cannot move and unstick me does not work. Only reconnecting works so basically your event is screwed. I want my $29 back:mad:

I have personally experienced this problem myself. This "stick" also happens if you ever go through doors on a skateboard. Once warped to the event (or stuck through door), if you hop on and off of your board while strafing, you should be able to move again. This method has worked for me 100% of the time.

I have personally experienced this problem myself. This "stick" also happens if you ever go through doors on a skateboard. Why protection? It totally takes away the point of revenge killing, which is a big part of any online game which involves fragging or killing. In fact I'd go in the opposite direction and after a certain amount of repeated kills, do something like a domination system so if you keep getting killed by someone, you can get a nice "revenge" message if you get revenge killed that person.

And as said many times before on this site, developers should really focus on making a better game for newer devices, rather than making a shitty game that's compatible with the older devices. I do agree that you have to fix it, but you shouldn't take away a huge part of an online killing game just to patch a bug that affects just a few of us.

Meh, My second gen jb 4.1 ipod works fine on Graal era, even when it running era+ 1.0 :D. developers need to just keep people interested in the game and keep people buying acess to png files that they already have in their Idevices. AND stop bug abuse........

I know it's art you made, and I agree that you have the right to protect it, but it's your fault you put it out there. If you didn't want it to be stolen you should have never made it.
You're just going to have to deal with it being stolen. Newbs will be newbs. You should come to Graal PC and buy a gold membership here, there's less body stealing ect ect. You can even host your own server for the overpriced fee of 100$, but you can make your own levels in the level editor for free and play them yourself.

1) a trading system. This could be limited to items currently stocked or have items be given maximum prices by staff, controlling inflation. I'd like to sell off some old shottys I never use, to people who will.
2) loan system. You could loan your old uzis or whatever to some newbie you want to help out, and have a list in the menu of loans you currently have out, with a "return" and a "return all" button, loans would be endless until buttons pressed.
3) option for larger button size on iPad. I cant tell you how many times I've meant to press one weapon and pressed another, or couldnt switch/move.
4) auctions, in the unused auction house by west hospital
5) new/more hats in the hide n seek event
6) donation system, where you can donate a weapon or something to a pool that a new player will be able to choose from upon starting game
7) a better shotty-type weapon, ie spaz 12, m3, or pbp
8) ETs!!!
9)ec system, where upon winning an event a player is given the choice to receive cash or ecs, with a larger cash prize meaning larger number of ecs
10) player-owned businesses would be cool, although this might not be something the staff wants (but I do!)
11) lastly, customization for skateboards, cars, and weapon skins

the whole company is corrupted. The customer support and public relations are horrible, plus the overall company:

1. They ban the word "dick", but not "cock". In some people's minds cock is more offensive. the sensitivity of the censor system doesn't even work. words that have nothing wrong with them are banned. I admit you need a censor system, but multiple times a day, every day I run into a normal word being censored.

2. my friend was being stalked, she reported the person but the moderator refused to help her.

3. Yeah, they may listen to some ideas, but the dark truth is compared to other indie devs, they never take the bigger ideas to thought, and the bugs can take weeks to get patched.

4. In an attempt to regain their player-base, they tried to make a portable version of their once coveted game. It may have worked a bit, but they ruined it by over charging for items, once again taking advantage of their customers, and thus losing even more. promised updates have a tendency to come later then promised. Emphasis on the word promised. They haven't even learned from their mistakes, charging an extra amount for transferal and upkeep of characters from iOS to Facebook. The proof for number 4 can be found by looking at the player-base.

5. Since this is a social game, bans should be for more than just bug abuse. You would be surprised at the amount of unhappy players whom quit because of the amount vulgar pictures/chatter and overall shitty community that this game holds. The moderators very rarely ban for vulgar language/excessive hate and spamming some players endure, which in some games would very likely get you in trouble. Of course I fell you should ban this type of misconduct if you want more players to stay with the game, but of course a screenshot would be needed.

6. I have found when signing up for the iOS version, there is no terms of use or contract that you have to agree to before starting the game, not even in the iTunes Description. While many players most likely do not read Terms of use, if they break a rule, they have something official to find their crime on. As of now, if you don't have a Terms of use, you can't officially ban players, because they never signed any agreement that stated they can and will not do that. heck, there aren't even any rules that a new player may quickly find. By rules, I mean the "what-not-to-do's" of GraalOnline. Oh, and I'm looking in to whether it's required to have a terms of use/service to officially ban a device/IP.

You know there will always be impolite and think they're the king of the world, and those who spam insults, even with the world's best chat filter. First of all, it was not a bug, it was an error on your part. I assumed that the time had been changed possible because of how often I had suggested just that. In the end though, I was the one who paid. I lost hours of my time for nothing except a few cruddy items like p4. Why couldn't I at least get given some hat or permanent statue? It wouldnt cost a single cent, and my achievement was pretty great, error or not. I mean, I was the only one able to do that, even with your screw up. Snk, killing me was complete abuse of powers, and then telling me I was abusing a bug was complete garbage. Also, whats up with Rages? I killed him when he tried to end my streak so he got all pissy and wouldnt help me with a simple update. The whole thing was a screw up on your part, not mine, and I am not in the wrong. Of course, right afterward I was banned for walking into a walk, though I honestly have no clue how that happened. And adding 4 days to that because I have 2 accounts, one on each device, is complete garbage. Whats your deal?

PRs are not GPs, but they are having to do the work of GPs at the moment and vice versa on classic. GPs deal with issues violating rules, PRs answer questions and help with things like account transfers. Get it right :p

With the new auction house auctioning off some very exclusive guns atm, the future of this game looks grim. Unless you plan to release those guns publicly, then this MMOA will probably be dubbed "Pay to Win", which is an extremely bad thing.

I think the auctioneed guns will at some point be released to the public. The auctions are more for getting early access (and only to some weapons/items).
