Looks nice! Colorfull. Can you add some more screenshots? Maybe of the menu screens as well! Looks very interesting but the screenshot there looks kind of busy.

Wow looks very interesting.
I love the retro style graphics, however when you say 'RPG elements' is it going to be a little bit like VOID in that you can level up and allocate points?

Hi, I'm Courtland, the other developer of Space Element.

The game can be played with either "two thumbs", or "one thumb and accelerometer" or "no thumbs". We prefer the two thumbs as it helps keep up with the fast arcade pace, but it's playable with all methods.

I haven't seen much of VOID, but there are more RPG elements than just level-ing and allocating points. I'll try to make some more screenshots and post them. Development is in full swing right now and we're still finalizing the design for aspects of it and making levels.

We will post more details as they're finalized. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any extra moves? Is it just shooting or can you like shake the screen for a bomb to go off or something?

I like that you have 3 options for controls but I think I'd go with the 2 thumbs myself :)

There will be multiple types of abilities and multiple power levels for each ability. As you level up your ship you can equip it with more abilities. They are accessible through buttons on the bottom of the screen. Mapping the abilities to shake would be neat, but I don't know how to do that with multiple abilities. If you have any ideas, let us know!

Yeap, 2D all the way. Our engine is pretty fast and we plan to have tons of enemies and particles on screen.

I posted a couple more screenshots to twitter, one of the prepare-for-level screen and another in-game screenshot showing off another mob type. It's the Laser Wall mob, and they can get out of control quickly. They're one of my favorites right now.

Will it have online in-game leaderboards?

Awesome, just awesome!

I was actually looking through the forums to find this thread about two days ago and going through your twitter wondering about updates and what not. The game looks like it's coming along pretty good it looks like it would probably be one of my most visited and i've never asked this question ever and im really hesitant to ask, but will there be any beta testing?

Also I was wondering how many campaign levels will this game consist of?

Initially there will be 30 campaign levels and we plan on adding a bunch more with updates after launch.
