From the press kit:

Survive the onslaught of brain-sucking zombies and ill-shapen monsters. Outnumbered and surrounded, take down the undead with precision aim and watch the body count pile up!

-Other attackers: flying skulls, chainsaw monsters, skeletal canines, and a giant monster.

-Haunting settings - empty field, graveyard, industrial facility, and zombie-laden roadway.

-Perma-gore technology turns killing field into a bloody landscape - smashed body parts and blood spatter remain.

-Weapons for different missions - pistol, hunting rifle, shotgun, assault rifle, and mixed weaponry.

-In certain missions, restricted field of view causes extreme tension.

-Unlockable cheats and extra weapons.

iZombie: Death March, a top-down action game created by the developer of Topple. iZombie consists of six scenarios plucked out of zombie movie lore, such as the infested graveyard, the high-speed truck escape, and the final extraction by helicopter.

In every case, the idea is to tap the angry undead to shoot them before they eat you. However, the mechanics are slightly tweaked from level to level; for instance, the warehouse is completely dark, so you must swivel around with a flashlight to reveal the zombies before shooting them. During the escape scene, a giant monster is giving chase, while zombies on the road slow down your truck as you hit them. You have to shoot them down and drive over them before the monster catches you.

Not exactly sure what's going in from the screens. Is it overhead isometric like iDracula or 2d sidescrolling like Zombieville?

Judging by the first screen it would seem like it'll be more like iDracula then Zombieville. Hopefully more info will be coming soon!

My understanding is it's a top down shooter. I will contact the team behind it for more information. Anything specific you guys want me to ask?

Oh yeah, what do they think of Zombieville and iDracula. :)

Sounded kind of intriguing until I saw the perspective. Maybe it will look better in person than the screen shots, but I'm not one for the whole bird's eye view thing.

Reminds me of Left 4 Dead for Xbox 360 and PC. Its got four surivivors and LOTS of zomibes but yeah it also looks like a hybrid of idracula and zombieville

I have emailed the team behind it these questions...

1) How do the controls work in iZombie: Death March?

2) How many levels will there be and do you have a price point?

3) "how frenetic is the game, is it an arena shooter or go you go through levels or a story?"

4) What do you guys think of iDracula? Has this been a point of inspiration?

5) Is multiplayer an option? Co-Operative zombie slaying has become something of a gaming holy grail so a portable game along these lines could kill (pardon the pun).

Stay tuned :)

Tap Zombies to shoot them?

Yeah the hype meter went down a little bit didn't it

I still wonder though are you set in one spot and tap to shoot or are you walking around avoiding danger and all that. The light mission how do you shift the light to other areas? Hmmm

http://appgamer.net/features/2009/mar/28/izombie-death-march-q/

We recently caught up with Sonic Boom for a quick fire Q&A session on their upcoming zombie survival game iZombie: Death March. Want to know more? Read on for the gory details...

1) How do the controls work in iZombie Death March?

iZombie Death March is a survival-horror shooter game where you, the player, fight a horde of zombies and monsters. It is presented in a top-down perspective so you fight by tapping on the screen at the desired location. In two of the levels, you have a flashlight and a limited view of your surrounding area, so you tilt the phone to control the flashlight and field of vision whilst tapping on the screen to kill zombies. To reload your weapon with more ammo, you will move the iPhone up and down in a swift reload motion.

2) How many levels will there be and do you have a price point.

There will be six levels in the game. We don't have a fixed price point yet.

3) How frenetic the game is, is it an arena shooter or do you go through levels of a story?

The game is very frenetic as your survival depends on your ability to stop the horde of zombies and monsters from destroying you. iZombie: Death March is a survival horror game, so you're literally up against a wall trying to shoot your way out. iZombie: Death March will have a connecting narrative between each of the levels to guide the mission flow.

4) What do you guys (the developers) think of iDracula? Has this been a point of inspiration?

Our real source of inspiration are zombie movies, and the tension and intensity of those settings. Our game is very different from iDracula. We just happen to like the horror genre.

5) Is multiplayer an option? Co-operative zombies slaying has become something of a gaming holy grail.

Multiplayer will not be an option of iZombie: Death March.Sounds like they took iDracula and turned it into a lolfest. What do you guys think?

I personally would have preferred a more elegant/creative shooting control scheme than merely taping on the screen where you want to fire. Specifically, the game should have a left virtual D-pad to move, a right virtual D-pad to aim, and tapping on the back on the device to fire (cf Silent Hill). This accordingly would require few zombies, but make the game more interesting to play. The reload mechanism is fine.

Yeah I would have like more of an adventure type game rather than stuck in one spot tapping the screen to kill with some words in between chapters.
