Hello everyone, I just submitted my first game to the store and if I jumped through all the hoops correctly it should show up for sale in a week or so.
I have been creating games for over 2 decades now so working with the iPhone was a little bit of a flashback to when computers had lower resolution screen.
iBabalu is a fairly simple game where you play along to different songs or can just free form drum along to any songs on your iPod. It was just a few weekends worth of work - basically trying to make something fun while getting familiar with the iPhone environment. The iPhone is fun! Both to develop for, but also just to play other games on.
The artist on the game is Brian Hahn, who created artwork for me a long time ago for "The Incredible Machine".
Anyway here are a few screens shots. I'll try to upload a video to this thread in the next few days.

Yeah, it is a fairly simple silly rhythm conga drum game. Something to get my feet wet on this platform. Hopefully I didn't screw something up to badly on my first iPhone game and end up blowing up people's iPhones or break the Internet or something.
I love that video. Desi's the man - my inspiration. ;) I wonder if Apple would approve my game if I called it "Badass Babalu"
It is not out of question that I may do something with one of my older games, but for now I've got to keep my mouth shut about any details.

Say sorry for not liking a game? My bad?
Canadian, how does it feel to live in the most useless country in the world?
Let me know, so I'll be able to tell my future kids why to visit the entire Earth, but not Canada
Thanks for that PM, sure was nice.

Say sorry for OFFENDING people that like this game.
I'd prefer to talk about that PM with your mum.
I'm not going to copy and paste you private messages, since they are private messages, but they're amazingly sweet. I'm sure your mum is proud of you.

I loved all the adventure games. What is your favorite Dynamix game?

I've thought about going into iTuneConnect and canceling this submission because there are a few things that I'm not 100% happy about. But I figure I'll let this version go out there and see if I made any tech mistakes before submitting an update with some better game play and presentation fixes.
I'm getting a LITE version together so people can check it out and not waste their money on it if it isn't something they'd like.
One of the nice things about the iPhone is how easy it is to get a new better version out to the people playing the game. With my older games you'd be burning a 100,000 or so CDs on initial shipment with no easy way to get updates out there.
I'm glad you liked the old Dynamix adventure games. I did a lot of work of the first two before moving on to TIM. I was actually one of the game characters (Immigration official at the Hong Kong airport) in the Heart of China game.

I hope you let Arn know you have joined so he can interview you on the front page someday.. I think most people are ignoring this thread..

"So off we go to the airport. Everything's jake till we try to board my
personal bird, the Yankee Eagle. Then some British immigration twit stops and
demands my papers. Now I got a choice: I can either give the phony passport
to this guy or pretend mine's misplaced. Well, I didn't entirely trust the old
dame, so I decided not to use the fake papers. Damn good thing, too -- turns
out the Chinese guy was wanted for Murder One. Anyway, I wear the immigration guy down with my silver tongue, and off we fly to Chengdu."
So you were the twit? :)

I love me a rhythm game. This kind of ressembles Taiko no Tatsujin in a way. Will you have a video up soon?

Yep, I was that twit. I wanted to punch myself in the nose when playing that part of the game. :)

I am working on a LITE version right now - so stripped down free version in a week if you want to check it out without having to send $1.99. Also working on an update to the full version with more music and also fixing things that I'm not completely happy about - especially the two player game which I feel is a little flat - and I want it to be better.
Wow am I tired. I can't believe when I was working on Arctic Fox for the Amiga I used to work until 6am and then go get dinner at IHOP.
