I can't wait for Zenonia to come out and I thought that by making this thread I can keep myself informed as well as the rest of toucharchades community.

Gamevil also revealed that they are bringing their Zenonia aciton-RPG to the iPhone. Zenonia is a successful existing Korean mobile title that has already sold over 600,000 copies. The game appears to be a very deep RPG with many nice details including day/night changes, slower movement when carrying many items, as well as the usual leveling up system, and skill upgrades.

Some features listed by the developer include:

# Choose between Good or Evil as you play through the game — Game story will change depending on which path you choose.

Zenonia will offer over 40 hours of gameplay. We managed to get an early copy of the game which is still in development. The game is mostly complete, however, with the exception of language-localization.

Controls use a relatively standard virtual D-Pad for movement and an attack/action button. Additional attacks and skills can be mapped to other virtual buttons along the bottom of the screen.

Zenonia iPhone Preview
Gamevil brings a little Zelda-like action to the touch screen.

April 3, 2009 - The App Store has seen a steady march of classic-style RPGs in recent months, but Gamevil hopes to lay down a marker with Zenonia, a port of an ultra-popular mobile adventure from Korea. Zenonia harkens back to Link to the Past, the bestselling 16-bit chapter in the long-running Zelda franchise, but with graphics that are much closer to Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS. The game unfolds like a traditional RPG, but also offers tons of side quests, like picking up a specific number of an item for somebody.

Using an on-screen d-pad, you explore an overworld full of monsters and mayhem. Your attack button is on the right side of the screen. Between these two input, though, is your magic and special moves bar. Earned and bought skills are placed on this bar and then activated by touch. For example, you can pick up an extra-powerful, ground-pounding sword swipe and then have it handy for an occasion when something like a giant raccoon attacks.

Zenonia employs some traditional RPG elements, such as experience points and leveling up. When you manage to gain a level, you assign level point to different categories, like strength and agility. You also must keep an eye on your character's energy. When he gets hungry, you must feed him.

Zenonia has a Zelda vibe to it -- and that's good.

Zenonia uses some cool little tricks to overcome concerns you may have about a touch d-pad, such as your hero automatically turning on the closest monster when you hit the attack button, even if you are facing a different direction. You can also cover a lot ground by dashing. Just quickly double-tap the d-pad and your little hero zooms away from trouble -- or right into the thick of it.

According to Gamevil, Zenonia has over 40 hours of gameplay. The game also uses good-and-evil decision trees to make sure no play through the game is the same (unless you make the same choices, of course). I'm looking forward to checking out the game when it drops sometime around May on the App Store. I get a real Link to the Past vibe off this game and am totally digging the art direction. If it all comes together RPG fans will be in for a real treat.

Yeah it seems like all the excitement is a couple weeks off, with zenonia and CJS set to release fairly soon, but not quite yet.
