As far as the price is concerned, there is a little confusion here. Description seems to suggest its FREE with some sort of DLC (my guess would be FREEmium type) but it's listed as $4.19 in NZ curreny(ie $2.99 USD). I think they'll just slash the price to free to make sure it shows up in the price drop charts of Appshopper. Guess we'll find out once its out in US tomm.

So if you aren't actually playing with your friends but rather bots controlling your friends characters, do you have to be online in order to play this?

I saw this at the Aus store a couple of days ago actually for $4. Checked now and looks like it's been pulled. I'd say that points to a "Free" release.

Also, is the iPad version out? It says it's coming soon, but the trailer suggests otherwise.

AND, is this an MMO? Is it online, so you can play with multiple friends? It says they're computer-controlled. LOLWUT.

It seems they have to be playing the Facebook version - but how you interact is puzzling. There are several contradictory statements.

I am joining you all in the befuddled category.

The thing that is worrisome to me are the controls - if you watch the video it seems like it is all touch to move with commands at the bottom of the screen so you are constantly moving all over to control your character. And if that is a seasoned player - as in someone who has experience with the controls - what will that say for a learning curve for new players?

I guess bottom line I can try anything for free if it releases as such, to experiment around; but with uncertainties, if it has a price then I will wait for much more in depth impressions.

I don't think you realize how many gamers do not have facebook. Becasue it is still a large number, and setting a requirement to an alternative source for a game limits the amount of people that can have access to it.

I am totally cool with it having fb implementations and even a bonus if you do use it. But not being able to access it because you do not use fb is a huge problem.

Found this article that explains the game (http://www.insidesocialgames.com/2011/02/09/team-sollmo-buddy-rush-facebook-iphone-ipad/) a little more.

The thing that jumped out at me from it was that online play is not synchronous. So not sure how that can be cooperative - you "borrow" friend's avatars? Little confused by that.

And the big one - missions use up stamina that only slowly replenishes over time. Sounds like that is where the IAP comes in to play since you can purchase vials or potions or something like that to replenish that. The article describes it in Facebook terms of using Facebook credits to get the potions.

But can't find any indication why this was not released or what the deal is.

Probably like Gun Bros. you draft a friends character to be played by the AI. The added party member helps you tackle bigger challenges, and your friend gets a % of the experience/loot.

The official launching date has been changed to 2/12 and*I think there was a delay in App Store System when adjusting the Available date.
The price will be changed to free right after the launch.

Personally, it's just ok. It's kinda like Pocket Legends, except even more boring.
