Sony announced that Bond will be arriving in August and be called 'Top Agent'. It will see Bond facing an array of classic villains. Apparently it will also have multi-player connectivity;

Sony announces big names for the iDevices.
by Levi Buchanan
US, March 30, 2009 - At CTIA in Las Vegas this week, Sony Pictures Television announced an aggressive slate of mobile games based on film and television properties, including Ghostbusters, Angels & Demons, and James Bond. A handful of the newly announced games will also be headed to the iPhone, including Ghostbusters and Bond. The Ghostbusters game is set for a June release and pits you against another spectral invasion of New York City. The Bond game, slated for August, is called Top Agent and features multiplayer functionality. Players square off against a cabal of villains from the Bond coterie.

Sony is also planning a proper version of the arcade classic Q*Bert (sorry, CuBert) for the iPhone that will offer new graphics and screens. This update is set for July and will also appear on Android.

In addition to these iPhone games, mobile players can also put Angels & Demons on their calendar for May 15. Sports Illustrated, Zombieland, 2012, and Voltron (based on the original cartoon) are on the schedule for release later this year. There is currently no word on if any of these titles will come to the iPhone, but considering the device's popularity, it's not out of the question.

all this sounds really great. can't wait to play a REAL q bert. and bond? i hope it will be a daniel craig casino royale version mostly. :)

I've played one of the James Bond games before and multi-player was really fun! I'm looking forward to it coming out on the iPhone! :)

That is interesting--Sony Pictures making mobile games that will run on other platforms.

I am definitely liking the idea of entertainment companies like Sony and Paramount putting out some games. They have the financial resources to develop high-quality games at a low price point--what a great way to create some buzz about their upcoming movies! (like Angels & Demons)

I hope that there will be a bunch of really cool locations to play in in the game. That's one thing thing I like about the Bond franchise.

Personally, I've always been partial to Connery.

I completely agree. If they even just ported Goldeneye with good controls I would pay $20 for it right away (assuming it had all of the weapons and levels). This would be a big disappointment if it's another Star Wars/ MGS. It better at LEAST be a FPS and I'm buying it first day out.

Would have been cool if they named it ibond:D:D

Anyway will have to wait to see if it's any good.Sony's mobile division isn't anywhere near as good as the ps3 gaming division.perhaps the iphone version of this game will be more like the mobile version with sexed up gfx of course!

if sony has the PSP and that whole shitty market place thing going, why would they help out the iphone with an awesome brand name? don't get me wrong, I pray to god that they do, but not a lot of companies are willing to support the iphone while their struggling handhelds are failing to have a universal marketplace, although i don't know many people who would buy an iDevice just to play super mario or halo, and it doesn't seem possible that a NES emulator could halt any sails of DS's, so in this respect, it's up to the company to decide how they want to handle their future in sails

Thats what I was thinking. Why would they assist the competition? That seems crazy. Maybe there is hope for bungie on the ipod touch (Halo), just dreaming.

Are you and everyone else who thinks that Halo might ever come to the iPhone OS devices utter morons? No true offense but I am getting sick of hearing that not only will it NEVER happen by a official team for various reasons, the main being that Bungie doesn't even own the rights to the Halo series anymore' its not very probable. Microsoft owns the rights now and they already plan to make a handheld eventually they said its only a matter of time and they don't need to dip into markets they aren't already in without trying to establish themselves with a device.

I have a feeling that this Bond game will be a ghostbusters let down if ever released.

I'm sure a lot of people would love a remastered port of Goldeneye. I wasn't around to enjoy it, but whenever I mention it a glazed look comes into people's eyes and they start drooling. So it must have been good.

The chances of a port are virtually null though, Microsoft owns Rare and Activision owns the rights to the Bond franchise.

Goldeneye was probably one of my favorite games on the N64 despite it not even being all that great. Multiplayer was awesome. Actually now that you mention it I wonder if the game might ever get a XBLA release...hmm... Does Nintendo hold anything regarding the game?

The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this thread was 'iGoldeneye", there's actually a rumour about a new Goldeneye, called "Goldeneye 2010" coming to Wii.

Dude to me that doesn't even sound appealing these three words/numbers (Wii Goldeneye 2010) together do the same for me as beating my head off a wall.

Here's the lowdown on Wikipedia:

On January 7, 2008, Xbox Evolved confirmed the existence of GoldenEye 007 on Xbox Live Arcade.[48] On January 11, 2008, 1UP.com reported that a GoldenEye port (as opposed to a remake) had been in development at Rare for several months, but stated that the title would not be released on the Xbox Live Arcade since "Microsoft and Nintendo couldn't agree on the financial side of things."[49]
