Tyrian coming to Iphone

Hi guys,

We are working on porting Tyrian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrian_(computer_game)) to Iphone.
Below is the video of our current dev version.
There are some rendering issues and no controls yet, so the game is coded to go right in to demo mode after 1 second pause...

Excellent game! I had this on the PC, the GP2X, and currently still playing it on my PSP!
Looking forward for the iPhone version, I hope the controls are more rRootage and less SpaceX

Couple new thoughts came to mind:

Will episodes 4 and 5 be included?
Control system?
Vertical screen option? Or horizontal screen flip for right handed ppl?
Cheat codes w/o keyboard? (I'm thinking about the Super Arcade Modes here)
Wifi/Local/Online Co-op?

And of course..
Destruct?

I'LL LOVE YOU SO MUCH IF YOU DONT SCREW UP THIS GAME, used to be my favourite PC game for years, one of the best games i've ever played

edit: Co-Op would be lovely indeed but i think i could live without it, but man... playing co-op with my brother on 2 iphones that'd like just like the old times

Yeah, basically the best vertical shooter in my opinion, rivalled only by Kenta Cho's creations, and Do/Donpachi

Man, I still play this every now and again on a DOS emulator... A good port would seriously make my day!! Beats Galaga anyways. I'm off to tell my brother :D

A new accessory is coming out that attaches to the iPhone that lets you insert coins to play.

I'm going to side with most of the other posters: one of the best shooters ever. Definitely the best shooter soundtrack.

This game looks like a nice addition to all the shooters hope it's more intense then some of the other ones out there.

You could always go try it now :) It's open source and playable on PC, Mac, and Linux as far as I know.

I honestly can't wait for this, but now I'm a little bit worried about the controls:
- No touch sensitive menus?
- Info on the left? I'm sure it used to be on the right...
- Will it be touch or tilt or both?
- Will there be an autofire option?

Hmmm... as much as I love this game, a badly thought out port could easily ruin it
