Hi All,

Dicey Dice has just been updated and is now available FREE in the App Store. (http://itunes.apple.com/app/dicey-dice/id432734754?mt=8)

It's a path drawing game in the vein of flight control, with a number of variations and challenges and somewhat more frenetic gameplay.

I'm looking for some reviews and thought I would pull together this promo.

Prizes

- Two x $50 cash prize via PayPal (or $50 iTunes voucher if you can't accept PayPal).
- Two x $10 iTunes vouchers

How to Enter

Simply get the FREE app from the App Store and leave a review. Then post here or PM me on this forum with your iTunes username and the store(country) that the review was left in.

Judging

One prize ($50) will be awarded to the review that receives the most "Helpful Review" yes votes.

One prize ($50) will be awarded to the review that I personally judge to be the most informative.

The other prizes will be awarded to randomly chosen participants.

Competition closes on the 10th of June. So you've got around a month to gather lots of thumbs ups!

Left a review in the U.S. App store, Dcalbie.

I'm loving the game so far, got hung up on 1-9.
I can't see any reviews for Dicey Dice, there were some there yesterday...

Very interesting contest. One entry has amazingly received 14 helpful reviews and everyone else has been listed as unhelpful.:(

Not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing it out.

Yeah maybe not the best way to decide the winner, but obviously I have to stick by the original post. There's still the itunes vouchers which are given out randomly :)

Unfortunately I can't really change the rules after posting. HOWEVER I will be looking at adding an additional prize for the review that *I* judge to be the most helpful.

Stay tuned!

I think we should be glad we have an opportunity to get these contests. How the devs want to do them is up to them. It really is not anyone's place to ask for a change of rules. Just know that you will have a good chance of a dev awards the most helpful reviews, but it is unfair to come into a competition and ask a dev to adjust rules to your benefit. Thanks to the devs for feeding our addictions.

It has nothing to do with "my" benefit as you can clearly see by looking at my
provided examples. Can't see how you took that away from what I said, but
whatever. The apple rating system is easily manipulated and is far from
accurate for contest judgement.

How would you like it if wrote the review, "Good game", then asked all 500
of my facebook friends to log into itunes and mark my review helpful for the
grand prize? That's fair to you or someone who wrote an excellent review?

Sorry, but I definitely don't agree. I'm here voicing my opinion with examples.
I think it's fantastic a developer is throwing a contest, but is it for the same
person that's been winning hundreds over the past month here? So far it is.

My request was simply for a more fair way of contest judging since the
contest is already being tainted by one reviewer in particular.

I am not going to bother checking you examples. I am simply stating that you should not ask for a change of rules, your benefit or not. The dev gets responses to their contest no matter what. Some of us will give detailed reviews, others will give their two word reviews. At that point, we let the devs decide what they want to do. By saying those who leave such reviews should be bypassed, it is for your benefit (and mine too). But that is not fair to them as they complied to the original rules as well, whatever they are. I am not taking a shot at you in any way, I am just asking you respect the devs decision, whether you like it or not.

You both have good points, but I'm very hesitant to change competition rules.

Instead I will add an additional prize of $50 to the review that I personally judge to be the most informative.

Be great if you can click a few iAds to help me cover this cost :)

All I did was point out that someone is already cheating based on the rules in place.
If you want to support the person who's doing it, you have that right.
My post meant no disrespect to JNA Mobile or the contest rules.

The apple "helpful" rating system is inaccurate, easily manipulated and flawed.
That was the point of my post. Not you, the contest rules or anyone else
can tell me differently because it's a fact and I'm simply just mentioning it.

Good luck to you!

Flawed? Just about everything in contests is flawed in some way, particularly concerning the appstore. Believe me when I say, I dislike the people who manipulate the system as much as you or more. I just do not think we need to bring the problem to the dev and everyone else's attention as it is really beyond the point of fixing. I just looked at the reviews, and you will notice I too have one dislike (Review10). We are in the same boat in that sense. But we just move on to the next contest. Luck taken and returned.

Edit: Oh and think about this, a person asking 500 friends on facebook to give them helpful votes is giving the game more publicity than we could give being fair. Just a thought.

This game is kicking my can!

I'm trying to get all three check marks on each level, I cried when I saw the challenge for 9-3. Seriously...ok not really but it was touch and go there for awhile.

You are really going to hate Challenge three from 2-15 then.

I have seriously been considering making a few levels easier in the next update. So if you have some real troubles on certain levels let me know.

PS For challenge 3 on 1-9 I find circling 1's on one side of the screen and 2's on the other, then zipping them all in when the "gate" opens to be the best way.

Hate to hijack your contest thread but wasn't sure where else to post this, or even if it needed to be posted at all. Finally have all the checks on the first section EXCEPT 9-3, I'm going to try your strategy and see if I get lucky. Also need to try the key challenges on 1 and 11.

9-3 is frustrating, pretty sure I'm going to drop the challenge to 15 in the next update.

Don't know if this is a bug or not but after completing the challenge in 1-12 the stage that gets unlocked from getting the key in 1-1 it just sits on the screen. I have to hit pause to exit out.

WhooooooHoooo finally passed the elusive 9-3! Now its on to the 2nd stage! Great Game!
