Hi everyone,
I like to share our second horror project, Dead Escape, a horror adventure game set during a zombie outbreak.
In the game, you control the main character who is trapped in a convenience store, during a zombie outbreak. You must guide the player out of the shop and eventually the whole city, by solving many puzzles along the way.
In a way, Dead Escape is a homage to B-grade horror movies of the 80s and 90s.
Dead Escape is our second horror game. The Crimsons, a 3D horror novela, being the first, which was in a way, a test of some sort. We have learned a lot since then and have noted many user feedback. We hope you will enjoy Dead Escape when it comes out.
If you like horror, black comedy, puzzle solving, a little scare every now and then, then we hope you will enjoy Dead Escape.
More info to come. Release date TBA. Thanks for watching!

Graphics certainly look good!! Since this is a strict puzzle game, hopefully there is some cool object and AI interaction to make the experience even more immersive. And some scary moments would be great too. After all it is a horror game. Maybe there's no combat, but how about running away from monsters or something?
The graphics do look nice. I like the way you've styled the characters.

I do kind of agree with the angry dude.
We are coming up on 5th gen iOS devices, and the second gens just don't have the graphics chips or ram needed for open GL effects.
I'd hate to say it, but your devices will probably stop receiving support (games, iOS 5, etc.) once the fifth gen iPhone and iPod touch land in stores.
So accept the fact that your devices are getting old, and save up for a newer gen device - if gaming on iOS is that important to you.

Thanks everyone for your support for this game, Dead Escape.
I can confirm that Retina Display will be supported.
In regards to 2G support. We cannot confirm that yet however we haven't rule out the possibility. One thing for sure is that the game is running stable on 3GS.
The release date is still TBA, we are working hard around the clock to bring this game to you as polished (and as quickly) as possible.
I'll be adding more info about the gameplay soon. :)

(sorry for my bad english)
susantio
06-15-2011, 09:04 PM
Sanuku: We are actually inspired by point-and-click genre, and escape-the-room type of game. Of course we add our own twist to it, and that is a fully 3D world for a truly immersive experience.
PnExT: This game is iphone 4 tested and compatible. as for the price, we are not sure yet but it will be very reasonably priced.
Whiteplayer3d: There will be plenty of cutscenes in this game, it's not so much dark piano/violin but more modern instrument to complement the urban landscape. The game is actually not so much trying to scare or shock the player, the aim is to place the player in a situation where there is a zombie outbreak in town, and you have to escape by means of solving numerous puzzles in the game. There are approximatelly 50 items in the game, each item can be examined, rotated in 3D, combined with other items, and used in the environment by means of drag-and-drop. The game is divided into several chapters and each chapter encompassed several different locations.
Anyway, here is a teaser youtube trailer for Dead Escape. We hope you'll enjoy it. :)

Pacificsun0481: Sorry I missed your question. The game will be ipad/ipad2 compatible.
About the combat system.. there's isn't an 'actual combat' in the game. Without spoiling the story too much, there will be some instances in the game where you do encounter zombies but they will be treated more like a mini-game/puzzle.
About the fart.. well, I guess she had eaten too much baken beans... :/

We just have a confirmation that the game will only run on 3GS+ or higher, this is due to shader issues in 2G devices. It is possible that we might do an update later to cater to that, but not until this version is released.
As for spoken voices in the game, I'll get back to you soon on that one. There are many dialogues in this game as there are many objects that the player can interact with, so it is unlikely to have voices for each and every dialogue.

Geez people, get new devices - MOST modern games, with any shaders and lighting, 3d models or open GL effects won't run on 2gen devices.

Hi guys, we have some good news,
Firstly, the game is only days away from submission,
secondly, we are now supporting ipod touch 2G as well! Although we do recommend you play it on at least a 3GS device or higher to get all the graphics effects in the game, but the game is fully playable on the 2G device.
And thirdly, as promised, here is a short demo video of the game.
The FPS counter on the left corner is just for a development build, it will not appear in the final game.

I second this notion :)
I loved seeing the video on the prior page.
How long do you think the campaign runs, time wise? (hopefully more than an hour or 2) - and I'm curious about pricing, this could easily start at the low end 4.99 - more :D...
also, is it universal?
susantio
08-04-2011, 02:52 PM
The game is huge, it will take more than 2 hours to complete the game. You can interact with almost every objects in the game. There are over 50 items you can pick up, and different locations you will visit, and just when you think you've beaten the game, you will find a "twist" in the story. hint: the final stage is actually the biggest stage in the game.
As for pricing, we will have a release special, and it will be lower than you think. We want everyone to enjoy the game.
There is a particular stage in the game which is my favourite, ...ah but it will spoil it for everyone, so just stay tuned Our beta testers had the most fun in this particular stage, basically it contains a group of hungry zombies and a maze... :)
The game is compatible with ipod touch 2G, iphone 3GS, 4 and higher. It also support Retina Display.
The game is not universal is not tested on iPad.

Frankly, I'm always skeptical towards the quality of horror games. Probably so because most "next-gen survival horror" games are nothing more but action titles with a lot of gore & monsters.
But, this actually looks good. Not great like my all time favourites: Silent Hill 2 & Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.
Dead Escape reminds me of earlier Resident Evil titles and Silent Hill beacuse game is essentialy an adventure game with horror setting (which is a good thing).
I wish you best of luck! This might just be the right survival horror game on AppStore I've been looking for.

Good character designs are key in making any sort of connection to the avatar whose actions you control.
And these designs stink - the jock-hipster hybrids of the world can all be consumed in the zombie apocalypse.

You are not asking a question: you are expressing an opinion in a really douchey way (kind of ironic, don't you think?). Just because you don't like the main character it doesn't mean that it's badly designed.

He or she can complain all they want, it's a free country. What irked me is pretending the complaint was legitimate feedback to the developer -- as if the character design would actually be radically changed to please his or her taste/prejudices.
