ok, I had an idea that we should start a thread of all the GREAT(not crappy), but GREAT free iphone/ipod touch games. The idea is, list the ones you think are great below, and if I think they are great then I will add them to the master list at the top of this thread.

This will also get rid of all the threads asking about free games. Also note that LITE VERSIONS DO NOT COUNT

also note that games which were free for a limited time, or that just you got for free do not count either.

@Josh - I think it depends who's around when you post - I happen to like threads that list games in a specific genre and such, and I think a GOOD free games list is beneficial not just to me but to friends of mine who want to know what games are free but don't want to invest time in joining another forum... want a new free game? check out this thread!

yes. the idea behind this thread is not to have people randomly post free crappy games, but to have an organized list of all the GOOD free games out there.

the future changes i will make:

1 - order by category
2 - order within category by alphabet

I'm guessing you just haven't got round to it, but please don't class them as 'crappy' and ignore them! Fingeric and Blop especially are both polished, well-made games! I still play Starfall too. I found it more fun than Mazefinger in any case... :D

I'd take Tap Tap Revenge 2 off the list since the game technically is not free... the free version offers perhaps 1 song? All the rest you have to buy, and they're not even great songs either. I think DDR Lite is much better.

And I noticed you have imob listed... Yes you can play without buying extra turns, but do you really think that is fair? Those games seem to pivot on there being points packages available to give you an extra edge over your competitor. For once, can a dev release an mmo game like these and have a level playing field? imafia was nice until they started releasing points packages disguised as a poor excuse for a game. I guess I'm just splitting hairs here.

Buy what? the in-game downloadable songs are for free. You also have optional iTunes links to buy the songs, but it has nothing to do with the game. If you are going to complain about something, then be sure to understand how it works first.

Some of the other titles are fun, but more like 15 minutes of fun, then you'll never touch them again.

the pupose was to find good free games, not good lite games that have priced full versions. i know you were only trying to help, but that's the purpose of the thread, to find the hidden free games that don't seem to be resting in the top 100.

also tap defense 2.0 is out and it's bigger and better. I don't believe anything is planned to be worked on with TD after the recent update unless 3.0 causes problems with it.

eh, glyphos is actually pretty damn good, plenty of people liked the games, if they don't appeal to you that's fine, but I'm not sure you should trash the hard work of the developer. Unlike DSeffects, some of the games actually are pretty damn fun, and would be for 99 cents.

Maybe I am a bit harsh but I deleted them very quickly. I did just read a bunch of reviews for 59 apps though. Wow, never saw so much hate towards an app.

I will give you the point on posting about the lite versions. I just thought some might be interested since they included so much gameplay.

I have tried a bunch of the recommendations (thank you) and so far the one that really grabbed me (that isnt in the top 100 and thus isnt obvious) was Power Rush. Its exciting and fast paced. Probably too limited to play much of, but a game or two when your by yourself (you'll look like a retard madly tilting the phone) is definitely fun.
