It doesn't seem to be matching my songs too well... I don't like to be the one throwing negativity into a positive topic but as someone who's played a ton of DDR/Stepmania, Guitar Hero and Rock Band the timing just feels off and the note patterns are somewhat messy.

I imagine it'd work well for songs with a clearly defined beat and less vocals, but for stuff with 4+ instruments it gets kinda lost. It's not even close to manual note placement.

That stinks... :/ I'll still try it out for free, but it doesn't look too promising...

I was interested enough to try this for free, but am getting the old "This item is currently being modified. Please try again later." message that usually shows up when an app is going from free to pay. Looks like I missed the deal. Oh well.

If you're looking for something close to manual note placement using discrete tracks, you won't find it in any game like this. I also find that the higher difficulties turn into a bit of a mess as the game tries to interpret every sound.

But if you approach it as sort of an abstract interpretation of a song to occupy you while you listen to music, it's a good time. I play on easy with 5-lanes, and that seems to be the sweet spot for this game.

Doesn't work at all with my music (techno, electro), tried three songs…

Downloaded this and played some of my newly acquired S&S LP songs (;)) and it worked marvelously. Extremely fun and very timely gameplay. I tried some songs with vocals, and it didn't do as well, but it was still accurate for the most part (all of this is on 5 keys and medium or hard difficulty).

And yes, on extreme difficulty the rythym does seem to be off... as if a bunch of notes are just added in to make it harder :p

Glad it's free.

P.S. You see that "it's" in the sentence above? I had to put in the apostrophe myself! (I'm on my iPod.) Outrageous!

Even picking songs with clearly-defined beats it matches very poorly. Like the majority of "automatic" rhythm-action games it feels like playing some random tapping game while you happen to have music on, rather than the music being in any way connected to the game. The presence of the music actually makes it harder.

It looks like this was just a temporary issue, as I was able to get it after trying a couple of hours later. My experiences basically mirror the rest of the thread--the extent to which taps line up with music varies greatly across tracks and genres.

When it works (most often with pared-back acoustic music), it can almost feel like the taps were hand placed. When it doesn't (with ... all the rest of my music), trying to tap to the beat will probably only screw you up. It's close enough to where you habitually try to do that, and it's difficult to train yourself not to.

It's an admirable effort--nice looking, does a decent job of automatically analysing music--but not ultimately a great game, mostly due to the limits of its concept. To counteract some of that negativity, I will say that it's fun when it works, and I won't delete it ... right away.

Every time I add a song to the library, I run through it. If it works then cool, if not, I delete it. I find that many of my songs work, and many don't, but I'm not losing sleep over it...especially at the price of one Rock Band song...or free in this case.

Disappointed me so much as I have been longing for this, just played half a song and deleted it.
Seems to me the rhythm has little connection with performance, the music just played to its own pace and showed me some "great" meanwhile.
BUMMER!

Of course you're not going to like it after one song, this whole thread has been about the mixed results we've all had. Some songs work, some don't. It's pointless to express any opinion about something you played for only a minute.
