Software version on the 2g Touch?

Just wondering what software version the new touch' have. Also if I decide to sell my 1g touch will it keep the software updates I payed for or will the new owner have to buy them again? Thanks, Victor

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone_OS_version_history) (take with a grain of salt) the OS that ships on the touch 2G is 2.1.1 5F138

Gizmodo (http://gizmodo.com/5047092/ipod-touch-second-generation-rocks-our-socks-off) just says it's 2.1

it's 2.1.1. It's just like 2.1 except I guess the .1 is because of the extra features the 2g itouch has. Believe me, I own the 2g itouch.

Like the Nike+ stuff? That makes sense, apparently that software is unique to the 2G.. There you go!

Also to answer the second part of your post, I believe the updates you paid for are unique to your iTunes account... whatever account they sync with, that will determine what is installed on it... But you should get a second opinion on that before committing..
