Desperate need for a WW2 Hex game

Discussion in 'General Game Discussion and Questions' started by ShortAppsReview, Dec 25, 2009.

  1. UniWar is great and probably the best hex game for the iPhone, but I'm looking for a game similar to Panzer Tactics for the DS.

Any idea if there's a game coming out for the iPhone that's similar?

It's basically the gameplay of Advanced Wars with the Hex layout <3

Provided we're moderately successful with The Epic of Roderick, you should have something in about a year. It's three or four on our list...;)

    War Generation?
    Great Little War Game?

    I can't think of a good WWII one... :(

If only someone would port VASSAL, we'd be set! :D

I have world in war but I hate to say it it's the worst one of these games I've played even going back to the days of the zx spectrum. It's a shame gameloft or someone else hasn't tried to clone hearts of Iron type game.

There's a few, actually, very similar to Panzer Tactics but also Axis & Allies

There's an entire product line of the games, ranging from European to American battles.

I forget their name, but they're in the strategy section, look for the dice on the icon. I don't advise getting the "1942 World At War" or whatever it was, it took the computer literally 2 minutes to take a turn moving units across the ENTIRE globe. And no way to speed past it.

They're highly reviewed, but personally not my cup of tea (2 minute computer turns... really now... why...)

    They're European War 2 and ... I forgot the other one. ;)

These are very much like Axis & Allies and nothing like a hex-based tactical game. They're decent though.

Those are fine for what they are, but they're basically Risk variants.

The OP's query was geared more toward traditional hex-and-counter games.

Would Great Little War Game work? That game's so addicting it's scary.
