I'm proud to announce the upcoming card battle game, Phantom Spirit Battle Academy!

From the creators of Shadow Era comes a brand new casual card game with amazing graphics, witty backstory, and intense battles in the campy style of badly translated Japanese Anime. And of course, all the quality and cross-platform multiplayer goodness you expect from Wulven Game Studios.

But first, feast your eyes on a small sample of the cast of characters.

How much $$$ are you projected to milk out of this new (IAP supported) TCG? :D

If Shadow Era is like Magic: The Gathering, then I guess this game is kinda like Warstorm on Facebook or Orions on iPhone, but with a lot more character and unique style parodying Japanese Anime. All the cards are creatures with abilities, and the game has great special effects to match the art style. And of course the required Japanese teenage girl voice-overs shouting their special attack powers.

It will be free to play on web, iPhone, Android, PC and Mac. TouchArcade called Shadow Era "a fantastic representation of what freemium games should be" so it would be a good idea to follow the same model. :D

I'm happy to say that Wulven Game Studios is expanding quickly and we hope to be up to 40 people in the next two months, so don't worry there is still a lot of work being done on Shadow Era and other projects.

Great artwork, just wish card battle games had a tad more to their presentation besides static artwork on cards.

Each character will have unique 3d special effects for their attacks, so this will be the most awesome looking TCG out there, even better than Shadow Era...

Looks pretty good. I find myself really liking the style of the art. So great that good TCGs finally start appearing on the iPhone.

When can we get some details about the gameplay?

Besides the art, how will this differ from Shadow Era? It seems weird to have two games competing with each other, so I'm assuming this one may be targeting a different demographic? Since it's a casual TCG, I'm curious what the game mechanics will be like.

It's a completely different style of card game, aimed at a more casual audience. If Shadow Era is like Magic: The Gathering, then Phantom Spirit is kinda like Warstorm on Facebook or Orions on iPhone. The cards are all characters that battle each other directly. It will make more sense when we release screenshots and gameplay videos soon :D

I am that more casual audience and I am really looking forward to this.

Go reserve your names and sign for beta now. Check out the updated website too, it's nice and purdy.

Open beta is tentative for summer and that's.. like now—so it'll start very soon ^^.
