Coming Thursday. Controls are great. http://toucharcade.com/2009/12/07/pac-man-championship-edition-coming-thursday-and-it-plays-great/ arn
This will be epic as long as the controls are decent (meaning better than Re-Mix). I'm sure price will be around $6.99. Hopefully arn can provide some more insight in his frontpage article.
Awesome, been looking forward to this one! Just hope it's not too pricey (though I'm sure it will be...) since I already have Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Pac-Man Remix Not in a huge rush, might have to wait for a sale since there's so many other original games coming out soon.
This game absolutely owns. It makes that other PacMan game they released look like a can of creamed corn left out in the sun too long.
Being a PS3 owner and Pac-man being my favorite classic arcade game, I have been incredibly jealous ever since the day Namco released this for the 360. So happy I can finally play it, looks like there's a lot of fun to be had with the challenges, a good amount of control options, and vamped up Pac-man goodness. Can't wait!!
so the only reservation about this game is that they are holding back a bunch of content under an in-app purchase, and I don't know the price of those elements. The included content does leave you wanting more. arn
The in-app purchase for the "rest of the game" is slightly concerning especially when considering some of these titles release prices. Almost seems like the main game is a large demo and the expansion is the bulk. Does anyone know how much content was included with the Xbox 360 version to see whether the expansion on the iPhone covers the entire rest of the game?
In-app purchases seem to be the answer to the unsustainable race to the bottom economy of the app store. This game costs $10 US on Xbox Live. If we get it for less than that (or if the initial app + the in app purchase works out to be $10) then what's the problem?
Awesome, been waiting for this for months. It looks good too. Hope it plays smooth.......smoother than it's iPhone companions anyways.
Turns out IGN thinks Pac-Man: Championship Edition is a piece of shit. http://wireless.ign.com/articles/105/1053163p1.html
I hate this sort of in-game purchase. Buying DLC as in adding additional content to an already complete package is one thing, but having to pay for what sounds like a lite version, and then buying the rest of the game in-app is not cool. I'm sure the controls will be similar to the other Pac-Man games, but if you gotta pay 3 bucks to unlock %75 of the game, I won't pay more than $2 for the initial cost.
