Totally agree, ruined that game with having the controls in a stupid place. Dont devs look at other platformers to see what works ? The buttons in the video above seem way too huge and in the way but it seems to be an early beta version so i'm sure they'll be different in the final game. But i wish Emberwind would change the location of its controls (sigh)
Hello, I am Steven Böger from Germany, leader of this game project. I am a bit disappointed of the presentation here. In my opinion our project isn't far enough to make it public in this way so soon. The informations are very old. But yeah, now it's too late. If someone have questions about the game I'll try to answer on it. I can assure you that we attach great importance to the controllings. For me as a developer it's not understandable why the devs of emberwind did such a huge mistake. As you can see in the video, the gameplay is very fluent to control and you hit the buttons you want, because of the size and position + intuitive and fast physics on the players movement. You are right. Reducing the opacity should solve this problem.
Hi, and welcome to our forums! Sorry about the premature exposure. I found your vid on youtube and posted it here, then Pocketgamer found it and reposted it and then everyone came flocking. At least you have some people looking at this now. About the controls... it's not so much about transparency as much as the visible buttons seem to be overly tall, eating up room intruding into the middle of the screen. Also, the directional buttons don't seem to be wide enough. Compare to other iOS platformers. Robot Wants Kitty has a much bigger touch area than the actual visible buttons, which are sleek. And yeah, yours is much better than Emberwind's. That was bafflingly awful.
Yeah I definitely like the looks of this and for that only I hope controls act better, which I'm sure they'll do.
Looks like this is gonna be great and with the dev coming here being open and eager to make this a more polished experience overall makes me think I'll be getting this ASAP!
Am I the only one that gets a Yoshi's Island vibe from this? Especially with the "cannonballs", this looks really good.
The game looks pretty interesting, the animations are smooth and the gameplay seems good. I like the atmosphere too
Correction: 2,39Euros are 2,99$ for you The iTunes holiday break is 2 days after our release. Maybe an a bit late reply. We removed our video from Youtube, because it's not up to date, especially the shooting system has changed to reduce the comparisions with Yoshi's Island. The new game trailer will published soon.
That's pretty risky. Big companies like Gameloft and EA like to hold 99 cent sales just before the Appstore freeze to drive their games up the charts, and leave them frozen there for a week for all to see. Then when the freeze ends your game looks a week old.
That's what I said on game releases thread and people thought I was crazy... Anyway, I'll definitely pick this one
