    Hi guys,

do you remember the countless hours you spent in front of your computer, building miniature cities with Anno 1503, proving your business acumen with The Patrician III and sailing the world with East India Company?

We do – and we wanted these adventures to be continued. Late summer 2012 will finally be the time to set sails again: We, rapidrabbit, will release our new multi device trading simulation game Medieval Merchants.

    GAME SUMMARY

It’s the beginning of the 14th century and a new power is rising in Northern Europe – the Hanseatic League. Based on wealth and ships instead of land and armies, the Hanseatic League is connecting merchants from London to Novgorod. But there is one city, which is getting the biggest share: Lübeck, a North German harbor town. Right here many wealthy traders are competing for power, but only one can become the mayor of Lübeck and the mightiest Patrician in the Hanseatic League.

    OUTLINE

As a player you will take on the role of a medieval merchant, competing for valuable trade goods throughout the Hanseatic League, battling pirates on the open sea and investing money and resources in the city of Lübeck to become the mayor of the town. You will build ships to sail the Baltic and the North Sea and you will capture the trade goods in demand, before your competitors get the chance to do so.

The extensive single player mode guides you through the historic development of the Hanseatic League with a character driven story and events, while the multi player mode is all about competition to reach the customizable game goal. Center of all player actions will be the city of Lübeck – developing from a small fishing village to a mercantile metropolis.

    MULTI-DEVICE GAMING

With Medieval Merchats you can discover a fresh technology, taking advantage of Apple’s new OS Mountain Lion: You can play Medieval Merchants not only on iPad and iPhone but also on your Mac – transition-free with iCloud and Game Center support.

“If, much like Pocket Gamer‘s very own Will Wilson, you enjoy spending countless hours in front of your PC playing titles like Patrician III and Anno 1503, you’ll probably be interested in Medieval Merchants - a forthcoming cross-platform simulation for iOS and Mac. Look out for Medieval Merchants later this summer.”
