Hey guys, I'm working on the new Nano Fighter...

and I'm strongly considering making a racing version.
Where you'd have to fly around a track and get the best time while having to do some sort of battle... (suggestions?)

posting a poll to see what you guys think!

Here's an example. (this is from the build thread - http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=46564)

Sounds awesome. Keep the controls, have enemies coming in at you from all directions, have walls or traps, and make the track a lot longer and it should be pretty awesome.

Multiplayer would be pretty key for me to want to get a racing game of the like. The only way I would be interested is if you added multiplayer or if the single player was very compelling. However if you still had a shooter mode, the racing could just be a cool add-on

Not if it is time-trial like Jet Car Stunts.

Edit: sorry I had to change that :p

I was thinking if I were to go down this path I'd have to do some sort of multiplayer... it'd be too fun not to! :)

Why not include both styles, if it's not too much effort?

It might prove to be too much work to execute both ideas. I'm thinking to do both eventually but in separate apps.

    Sounds great either way :)

    Edit:

Just saw the trailer. The red-on-black scheme is very appealing, and is consistent with the mood of the first game. Those narrow passages beg a tilt movement option, as crazy as that may sound. If you need more testers, and gamers such as Reinhartmenken and Guise pass on the opportunity, I'd be happy to give feedback at some point along the way.

Wow, that looks fantastic! I'm all up for a combat/racing game with Nano Fighters smooth, buttery controls!

Are the tracks going to be this small/narrow and/or will the walls eventually be solid (to ships?)

    Thank you for the preview!

I hope you think of us if/when you start beta testing this game! ;)

If I do decide to go down this path then there'll be narrow and long sweeping tracks ... all sorts most likely :) Walls and object interaction is the next step to my build progress so it'll definitely be walled off :)

At first I was unenthusiastic about a racing version, but it would be a relatively unique type of game -- dual-stick shooter crossed with a racing element. I'm excited either way. :)

    Racing!

I LOVE racing, and I LOVE nano fighter. So, combined, this would probably be the best game on the iphone. :) I am very excited!
